Schroder is a good defender though. He also has a lot of high level experience (playoffs and international).Sexton is worth more than this, I think.

Can you be specific in what taking a L looks like? Like they wont get anything back or are you saying they will have to pay to get off them?Ainge will have to take a big L if he wants to get rid of these dudes. Not sure he can stomach that.
... and it takes one of the teams with the need for that archetype off the market.Honestly this is great news for the Sexton market. It's not great news for his possible value, but it takes a similar archetype off that market.
The Warriors were never going after Sexton. He doesnt fit their style at all.... and it takes one of the teams with the need for that archetype off the market.
I doubt the Blazers will just give up Simons. There are still Brogdon and Simons on the passing guard market. Both of them are a bit more expensive but are probably regarded as better players than Colin.
I wouldnt read too much into the value. Brooklyn took a value hit to ensure losses sooner. If you were expecting a first for Sexton, I don’t think you can really spin this as good news for his value.
Your post is a total clown show. The usual suspects seem to be mad at me for sticking to my guns and saying that Collins and Sexton still have no market. Shrug.
Not trying to be a contrarian. It's just that people keep trying to talk these trades into existence but there's never any real interest. Ainge will have to take a big L if he wants to get rid of these dudes. Not sure he can stomach that.
Ainge's Jazz career has been full of some of the worst GM'ing I've ever seen. Incomprehensible (or nonexistent) strategy, bad drafting, publicly lying to his own players, reluctant communication. Just a clown show.
Maybe firing Danny Ainge is the first step on the road back to relevance. He seems to be more invested in BYU than the Jazz anyway. Let him devote 100% of his energy to it instead of just 90%.

Agreed Sexton is a perfect fit as a scoring guard off the ORL bench. They have long defenders and desperately need to upgrade from Cole Anthony. They also have a bunch of stockpiled picks. The Anthony contract isn't horrible (2/$26 mil) but he really does stink and shouldn't get minutes here. I would think Ainge could finesse a FRP out of the deal if they are taking his contract. With Schroeder off the market, Sexton should be the top target for the Magic. He's at a good cost for them and they can get off Cole Anthony.
Brogdon might be better, but he's often injured and he's an expiring contract. Sexton would give the Magic a good scorer for this year and next, which I would assume is important to them as they can't really add in free agency.
Yup, Ainge is the ultimate finesser. The Magic are asset rich, so if they want to upgrade, there will be a cost.Agreed Sexton is a perfect fit as a scoring guard off the ORL bench. If that Melton contract wasn't an expiring the Brooklyn deal wouldn't have gotten done.
It's pretty mediocre value.Seems like good value for Shroeder to me. Melton was playing really well for the Warrios and wouldn't have been dumped if he wasn't hurt. Plus they got 2 second round picks. Maybe the best 3 second round picks from a team that will eventually be trash.
Sexton, to me, is an upgrade vs Shroeder.
I think if it’s just based on Schroeder s current play it’s a good value for GS. He’s playing really well. He likely does not continue to shoot this well tho so his career (and the good and bad of his personality) all factor in. Netting two seconds is basically what I would have guessed. No idea of the quality of the seconds but it’s fair. It's pretty mediocre value.
oh it's great value for GSW. It's mediocre for Brooklyn. They just wanted to get off him so they can lose games. They could have finessed for more if they held out, but they made the right move IMO. It wouldnt have been much better and ensuring more losses is the right move.I think if it’s just based on Schroeder s current play it’s a good value for GS. He’s playing really well.
