I don't consider Ace, Kessler, or the number 1 pick in this draft to be all that mysterious.

The #1 pick is by far the most important piece in this trade. How on earth could you NOT consider it mysterious?

Most draft prospects hyped as "generational" don't end up being anywhere close to that.

You wouldn't trade Ace, Kessler, and, for example, 19 year old Andrew Wiggins, for Giannis?

What you are suggesting is a repeat of the Mike Conley trade: trade away your promising young players, established vets and draft picks for an established star over 30.. Trades like that can pan out, but they can also backfire pretty badly. The aging star can suddenly get injured, waste one season and play out another just getting into shape and learning to play with a new team. And that what actually happened with Conley.

Giannis at 32 can get injured, waste a couple of seasons, finally have a semi-decent playoff run and then, feeling that he is wasting the very last productive years, demand a trade. The Jazz are a young team without playoff experience and, Giannis or not, they will need a couple of seasons of learning under the ideal conditions - Giannis will be 34 by then.

Of course, Giannis is Giannis, but having several promising young players on your team gives you infinitely more flexibility and time to figure something out. Mortgaging your promising youth and picks for a chance to have an aging superstar for 3 years is not a particularly good deal.

If AJ and DP were in the same draft as Wiggins then Wiggins would have gone 3rd. AJ and DP are another level of prospect. People thought Wiggins was a generational talent in high school but college exposed his lack of ball in hand skillset a bit. AJ and DP look every bit the generational talent in college as they did in high school. I'm also interested to see why you don't think that offer would be enough for Giannis? No other team could come close to that offer.

This Giannis trade might just happen. He just self diagnosed himself with a calf injury. He wants a trade.

I think Watson’s a pipe dream, ultimately. I think Denver matches any offer and will figure out the rest (which means someone probably gets Cam Johnson and/or Braun for free-ish).

This is how I feel about both Watson and Reaves...I think the Nuggets and Lakers ultimately end up matching any offer. I don't want to miss out on other free agents like Grimes and Ayo while we're waiting on the Nuggets or Lakers to match our offer.
