I had a gf recently, who decided that sports were a waste of time, so I shouldn't watch them anymore. When my team was playing and I was watching, she would pout and say anything she could to piss me off and when I got pissed at her and told her to lay off, she would lay into me about how I take it too seriously and it is pointless.

I never called anything she liked to do pointless.

We eventually broke up. not over that, but because the relationship was too one-sided. I was tired of her constantly trying to change me. And she even acknowleged that I was extremely accepting of her.

I've listened to Pacific Garden Mission's radio program"Unshackled" enough to think I have heard about just about everything people do wrong somehow. And been around a while. I have to concede to the wisdom of the posters above who more appropriately suggest that sports allegiances might not be the most important factors.

But we can all make less important things too important sometimes. I think the ultimate wisdom comes from our creator, and from my own experience I can only say I regret whenever I didn't stand with that.

other than that, having love and respect in the relationship can't be beat, and probably is what God wants in our chosen relationships as well.
