Aaron Gordon Diary for slam(Jazz Shout-out)

I'd be curious to know which of the PFs (Vonleh, Randle and Gordon) shoot best from mid-range. I'm guessing it might actually be Randle.

I 've wanted Gordon for a long time now. What makes me want him on the Jazz is his versatility and his attitude. The kid has the personality to be a leader and a star. Perrin already said he has seen great improvement on his shooting stroke. My biggest concern is that Vonleh is a passive kind of player. The Jazz need a guy who loves basketball and wants to win badly. Now I have no idea if Vonleh has a silent fire in his belly but you can't teach attitude. You either have it or not. I am not talking about selfish bad attitude but the kind of personality where you want to be great.

I get a feeling Gordon wants to be great. My worry is that Gordon might improve or get noticed by another team like Orlando. I am afraid that Exum might drop and the Jazz will take him over Gordon. I wouldn't do it. I would take Gordon over any other player but Embiid and Wiggins. I just think he has the talent to be a top 3 guy in this draft if he works his shooting out.

I don't know if I believe he is out of shape. They said the same thing about Parker and he looked better than he did in college.

Aaron Gordon is a little AK and a Little Blake Griffin. Not a bad thing. Yet he's shorter than both of them. No matter what he's still 6'7".

He's almost 6 9'. Do you play ball barefoot?

And that size is great for SF. This isn't Derrick Williams where you want to believe he can play the 3 so he's not a tweener. Locke said it well.

Someone asked about the comp:

@KurtFlinders: @Lockedonsports What makes you so high on Gordon, yet weren't w/ Derrick Williams? They must be different players, but seem similar to me.

Locke response. And locke is wrong plenty but this is on IMO.

@Lockedonsports: @KurtFlinders Gordon plays hard and has elite athletic skills. Williams didnt and doesn't

I wouldn't draft Gordon. I think his shot is broke. It looks like it has a stutter (Like Charles Barkleys golf swing) and he's 6'7" w/out shoes 220 pounds. I could be wrong but his size is just like Kirilenko. He can't be a stretch 4 cause he cant shoot. And he's not going to be a good small forward cause he can't shoot. He sounds like a really good guy off the bench for energy and defense.

LOL

And he is not 6'7". He is 6.7.5" barefoot and 6'8.75" w/ shoes. W/ an 8'9" standing reach and 6'11.75" wingspan. Those are very, very good measurements for a 3. You add his athleticism, and wow! For reference, Vonleh is only 6'8" w/o shoes

Also, A. Gordon's shot is not broken, and his ft's are already improving according to scouts.

If you don't believe someone could be good at jumpers, but bad at FT's, look at Trey Burke, where the reverse happened. Trey was great at the charity stripe, but only shot 38 FG% last year. One is a set shot, and the other uses one's legs. Some players have different forms for each, such is true for Aaron and Trey. Reports are that Aaron's FT's are improving, and the form is more consistent among all of his shots now.

Gordon is more Igoudala/Marion than AK. Gordon isn't going to over-commit to blocks or steals, and isn't as flashy when it comes to his passes.

You're trying way too hard. I implore everyone to start being honest and accept that the truth on both lies somewhere in between. Making up ******** to prove your point hurts your future credibility.
