I just said he has looked good every time he has been put in the situation of closing out games. I stand by that since I think that 9pts, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 turnover in the last five minutes would be considered looking good.

FishBro, not saying Alec can't pass. I think you are just looking at the stats page so you can't see what actually happened?

That play Burks drove baseline and was forced out of bounds, he was actually fall out of bounds and found Marvin under the rim. It was a good pass for sure. We all know Alec is capable of making good passes. The thing I'm talking about is when Burks is going to the rim and instead forces up a difficult attempt. The play you cited Burks didn't have a look at the rim, so he was forced to pass.

Can he make the pass when both options are available and choose the best option?

Another thing i have noticed is that burks flourishes when given the ball at the end of games and told to attack.

I love it when jazz bring the ball up court and then look for burks and force the ball into his hands and then clear out and let him go to work.
Thats when he seems to be at his best.

Small sample size (only 3 games so far) but he has looked great every time he has been in that situation.

Just for cyrone: maybe when he gets in that situation against a great defense he will struggle.

What I was meaning by the word time (rather than play) is the last few minutes at the end of close games.
Just to clear that up for ya.

I know everyone has different opinions on everything related to the Jazz, but can't we agree that Burks has shown the most growth this season of the core guys? I've always been a big Burks fan and am excited for how he has been playing.
Is he an all star? No way. His defense isn't great and his game isn't as diverse as we'd like. I would love for him to get a 3 point shot and be a better passer. But remember this dude is 22, is getting more minutes than ever and was picked up 12th in the draft. Its easy to pick a bust at #12.
Lets not hate on him, and just enjoy his improvement and what he can bring to the team

I agree.
Burks: most improvement, mostly because he was horrid at the beginning of the season.
Hayward: hasn't taken the #1 option great, teams focus on him, still a great player in a role not exactly suitable for him.
Favors: He's been the most consistent out of the guys. I'd like to see him have a little more fire though.
Kanter: Up and down for him this season. Most people thought he'd be the leading scorer, kind of like the opposite of Burks, he's well below what we thought he was going to be. He's not a bust, and still can improve. He'll be fine, maybe just not what we hoped for.
Burke: Seen some good things from him. Rookie pg, needs to work the crap out and get a lot stronger. If he does that he'll be in good shape for next season.

You are saying you love it when the Jazz give Burks the ball and tell him to go to work, assuming this means when you love it when Burks has control w/ an iso and has the leeway to call for a simple pick, but have the other 3 guys stand on the 3 point line.

Ok, so you say he has looked in the past 3 games EVERY TIME he has been in that situation, so you are talking about a play-to-play basis in which the situation described above happens.

But then Burks has a massive fail turnover and fails to run back on defense and gives up a huge momentum shift because of a bonehead play followed by a lack of hustle on the other end, so what you are saying is false.
