What's new

Are there any Kanter apologists left? What are they saying?

Interesting stat (anomaly):
With Kanter in the lineup, OKC has yet to beat an opponent with a winning record.

They've only won against Dallas and sub -500 teams since the trade, but the Dallas game was the first one after the deadline and Kanter didn't suit up (as most don't for the first game - not enough time to get to their new team, take a physical, etc.).

BTW, Kanter's stats with OKC are virtually identical to his stats with Utah.
He's playing 1 more min per game (woo hoo!) but getting fewer shots and his scoring is down by .5, Rebounding is up by 1 as are assists. FG% is also improved; no doubt because he is playing closer to the basket and not shooting as many mid-range shots or 3's (hasn't attempted one in OKC yet). As a result, he's also getting to the line more. Also realize it's a small sample size with OKC.

Let's see if I can get this table to post.

SEASONTEAMGPGSMINFGM-AFG%3PM-A3P%FTM-AFT%ORDRREBASTBLKSTLPFTOPTS

Wrong. Kanter's 2 point percent is up to elite levels like I told you it would. Has nothing to do with threes.

How can you sit there and say identical stats when his assists are more than triple and FTAs are double? He has become the best, most efficient scorer in the game.

OKC is 5 and 2 in games Kanter played. He's quietly making Adams an afterthought. They're already calling him The Big James Harden.

Kanter puts up Shaq numbers in the post and post defense is better today.

Lol.

Kanter's high with OKC - since he's been free to be his dominant self - is 20 pts. Took Shaq 14 years before his SEASON average DROPPED that low. Congrats, Kanter is now averaging fewer points at OKC than he did with Utah. That 13.3 compares to a 35 year old Shaq, though. So yes, a young Kanter is putting up as many points in the post as a decrepit Shaquille O'Neal.

Stats dont lie but liars figure.

Kanter is as dominant in the post as Shaq. He's a better free throw shooter. He's craftier and doesnt rely on bullyball. He's also young and getting better. He never played in college or against US quality high school players. Next season he will improve and the season after that. What dont you get he is young and already the best low post scorer in the NBA?

Yes, triple: LOL. From .5 to 1.5. Damn, he's playing like a young John Stockton.

As for FG%, 54.5% is very good, but hardly elite.

DeAndre Jordan leads the league at 71%.
Also above Kanter (and over 60%) are:
Chandler, Wright, Whiteside, Gobert, James Johnson and Ed Davis

Above Kanter and over 55% are:
Ajinca, Mason Plumlee, Amir Johnson, Henson, Dwight Howard and Valanciunas

I only included players with > 200 attempts. Also note I used Kanter's FG % with OKC ONLY. His overall % is 49.7 which would put him very far down the list.

Argue all you want about some of those guys only getting dunks. Really immaterial as many of Kanter's points come on put-backs.

As for making hilarious statements like "tripled" this and "doubled" that, when stats are so bad to begin with, it's not really a HUGE accomplishment, nor very difficult to improve greatly upon them. Kind of like being out of work for 1/2 a year and then going back at minimum wage for another year. You DOUBLED your pay. Woo hoo!

Your posts are so comical I can only assume you are Kanter's mother, Max Ergul or Kanter himself.

OMG What a stupid post. You earned your name with this one good job.

"The Big James Harden." LOL!!!
I guess it fits because neither plays defense.

I think he should be known as "The Big Magic." Not because he reminds me of Earvin Johnson. But because he's disappeared the last two games (8 points and then 6 points).

And whoop-dee-do about 5 and 2. They have yet to beat a winning team WITH Kanter in the lineup. Meanwhile, the Jazz are also 5-2 WITHOUT Kanter. He isn't missed on the Jazz.

Speaking of DeAndre and Chandler, the webs are saying thats Goberts absolute ceiling, YUCK! Not like a Whiteside or Kanter who can put up insane stats any match.

Speaking of comical posts bro I liked how you attempted to compare Kanters post game to lob catchers, cleanup specialists and 3 point shooters. Why dont you reference Randy Foye's season in Utah too? Good job sidestepping the issue and failing to bring any substantial facts to the table.

Sidestepping? I merely brought up the best FG leaders in the league. Kanter is also a cleanup specialist. He gets most of his points around the rim and putting back offensive boards. How is that any more valid than guys using their height and physicality or jumping skills to do the same? Did I include any 3PT shooters? Actually that would be impressive if any of those players shot a lot of threes since those are even lower percentage shots.

Okay fair enough. I will concede he has to do a lot of cleanup from Westbrooks chucking. If he were playing with a true setup pg like Chris Paul he would probably have the all time shooting % season. Could you imagine his footwork and finishing in the pick and roll with pretty much anyone but Westbrook or Trey? He'd be unstoppable. Oh well, we'll have to wait and hope he continues forcing Westbrook to pass for a change.

Speaking of 3 point shooters. Kyle Korver is again leading the league in shooting. Just another All Star your boys who can do no wrong KOC and DL let walk for nothing. AJ, Sap, Korver, Matthews, Bell, Carroll and now Kanter.

So "the greatest low post player" since a prime Shaq is scoring less than 15 points a game? The rest of his game must be the absolute worst. Like bad to a degree that's unprecedented.

Only reason im taking flack is for supporting an ex-Jazz player who got abused by ownership. You're not allowed to support anyone not on the Jazz and every non-Jazz player is rubbish. So logical

Your taking flack for hyperbole and false statements made. You are also using these pathetic tactics to pump up an Ex-Jazz player who whined his way out of town.

They will never get it bro, they are like a kid with a box of legos and big ideas but the finished product would look like a pile of jumbled mess. They are looking past Kanter praying they are not wrong ,hoping every shot misses and Okc doesn't win it all.You know they are scared that he will become what every good player the Jazz let go turn into ,All Stars.

Well yeah, I hope that OKC loses every game they play, as I do The Blazers. To be honest, though, I kind of feel sorry for the Wolves, but Denver? Screw those guys. Kanter plays for the OKC, so screw him too. . .

hahaha. Frankly we don't care about his further career. WE ARE BETTER OFF WITHOUT HIM. That is the only thing that matters. You Kanter fans are ripping the Jazz because your butt hurt he's gone. Watch him with OKC then. But what is the point of trying to convince the rest of us how good he is? No matter how good he turns out to be in (wherever he ends up because he won't be long for OKC) is irrelevant to real Jazz fans. Because the team has already shown to have a better player in his spot. And they had that before he left that is why he had to go. That and he was too ****ing selfish to shut the **** up and play his role on the team.
.
And every good player they let go turns into all stars? LOL so delusional.
