No worries on ruining anything.
I'm watching it this season, but I'm not planning on watching the 70 + episodes in their entirety before next Sunday anyway.
I've got the jist of the show, even though I am unaware of some details.

Let me echo the others. Stop reading the thread and catch up. You won't be sorry. Use your DVR for this season's episodes. Trying to connect the dots because you think you have the jist of the show is cheating yourself. The show has so many twists and turns that it's a pleasure to watch.
 
It's just a TV show. Maybe someday I'll go watch all the old episodes, maybe I won't. I already know most of the plot anyway.
I have started watching it this season, and I will likely continue to do so.
I appreciate everyone's concern that doing so will lesson the full experience of watching the entire series in order, but it's not gonna happen.

No. No argument at all but you seem to miss some major deal of it. But I won't ruin other posters' advise by telling you for instance about Mike. I can only advise that if you don't wanna watch and keep up with the last season, I am sure there are enough spoiler sites to keep you going on the main stuff so you can enjoy it more.

True. But in many people's opinion(including mine) we're talking about one of THE BEST TV shows of all time.
 
whatever. I ask a simple yes or no question, just to waste an hour on the sidebar, and theoretically hours more going to some other sites that may or may not answer my question, which I am not going to do.
If I didn't want to know the answer, I wouldn't have asked the question

It's not about the plot, it's about the characters. Without knowing the prior history and events they all experienced the payoff will not be worth your while.
