Chad Ford: the Jazz consider Dante Exum their franchise player

Don't get me wrong. This gets me excited as all hell. But I still am very, very concerned about his lack of explosiveness to the rim.

Did you see his one handed dunk after the whistle last night?

For a guy who's 6'6", he really struggles to get off the ground and I can't help but think virtually all It factor guys have this.

Stockton, Curry, Nash, Rondo, Tony Parker....

Maybe you missed his put back dunk after the buzzer last night. It was impressive.

his 1 handed dunk was nice, but his vertical jump isn't the best. He has great length though to make up for it.

Dante's decision making might end up being his best attribute. Watching John Stockton all those years, I was always amazed at his decision making. I see some of that in Dante. He seems so cool under pressure, like the game is in slow motion...and the game hasn't even slowed down for him yet.

Exum''s standing reach is 6 inches higher than Curry's, 8 inches higher than Lillards and 10 inches higher than Chris Paul's

So, for example, Lillard's max vertical is 5 inches higher than Exum, but he needs to jump 8 inches just to get to where Exum starts.

Judging from the nonreaction and the clock, I assume this was after the buzzer?

No, its just because he does stuff like that so often, that people became numb to it. Now if he had done it flat footed from the baseline. . . :)

It is funny how fans love their guys and have to bash guys we didn't get. If Gordon was on the Jazz people would be praising him and bashing Exum. I think both guys can be great in a few years.

This is a comment on society at large. As Americans we love to see folks fail more than we love to see them succeed. Somewhere along the way, people lost the the concept of being happy for our neighbors, for the members of our community, etc. We now have adopted the mantra of "if I can't have that, they can't either."
