Clarkson Opts In

If I was guessing right now... I'd say there is a 45% chance we keep JC and do the extension... 55% chance this is a opt-in and trade scenario. Clips, Lakers, Bucks being the biggest suitors.

Toronto may want Clarkson as their lockerroom is a mess. SnT for FVV?
I could see a Sexton/THT for FVV trade happening... but it sounds like Houston is getting FVV. When the actual exact numbers come out I start to feel like its a done deal already.

No matter what happens... this is fantastic news. Either we retain a guy at a price that is nice or we got a trade asset that could have walked away for nothing.

I hate to be nitpicky and technical but that’s not a sign-and-trade. Perhaps because these have happened so infrequently over the last decade people don’t know what they are.
But I guess it’s a better use of the term than when someone suggests a team signs someone else’s free agent in a S&T.

Progress…

I have thought for months that Smith wants JC here very badly because of the image he wants to give off about his team. It could go another way but I think this means JC is sticking around and will get a nice raise.

It does amaze me the terminology and the cap knowledge some people that cover the league lack. Its also possible she is describing the transaction in a way most fans would understand.

I think the fact that an extension is not being reported means it is very much in the air. The fact Tony and now Sarah mentioned it. I think its close to 50/50 but this provides more options for him to get paid and be in a good situation. Either way its a win for us.

Almost exactly 1 year after blowing up their roster and shipping off their 2 franchise cornerstones, the Utah Jazz are already dangerously close to fielding a 50 win team and still have a **** ton of future assets.

I was adamantly against the Danny Ainge hiring and I have no choice but to admit that I was completely and utterly wrong on all levels. The dude is currently running a master class on the rest of the NBA and we get to sit back and reap all of the benefits.

It’s kinda nice…
