Collin Sexton Stat Deep Dive

Okay... thought of one guy that made a jump in creation... Demar DeRozan... Does Sexton have the ability to go from 4ish assists to 6ish assists a game? I think that for him to fully be realized you will need a wing that can be a Tyrese Haliburton type. Like if Detroit didn't get Ivey I think Sexton with Cade is an awesome combo... potentially.
Chauncey Billups made the leap.

I'm not too concerned about Sexton. I think he'll have more value as an asset then as part of the core going forward. He will score a lot, develop some parts of his game, and then when he has an expiring contract, he'll get moved to a team that needs a sixth man scorer.

This league belongs to tall wings.

More stats. Again, I'm only comparing against DM as a point of reference.

It looks like Sexton has a ways to go as an isolation player, but is good in transition, and is promising as a PNR ball handler. His Clutch numbers are great, but man did Donovan have a bad year in the clutch last year.

For his role on the team, Donovan has been abysmal in the crunch for his career. 47% I think was his career best in that metric, as you have it there, and that was near the bottom if not the very bottom, of high-usage primary ball-handlers. Terrible decision-making and completely flat performances mostly. Terrible.

Yeah, the numbers are striking. I'm not sure how Quin let it go for so long. It felt like he kept thinking if he gave him more reps it would get better, but the opposite happened as I'm guessing Mitchell's confidence waned.

Its cuz Sexton got that dawg in him.

He's essentially a great value Donovan.
Keep in mind that Don’s numbers are inflated. He played with MUCH better players to inflate his own stats. Rudy really is a great screen and roll man, and the Jazz had a ridiculously good team of shooters.
