What's new

Derrick Favors was the best defender in the league last season...

There's no doubt we'll miss his defense!

We are trading that for more shooting, and floor spacing.

We are hoping the difference on offense is big enough to make it worth it. We've seen what Favors and Gobert can do, and I think
we reached the ceiling. Now, we are taking a risk, but its a risk we have to take.

The real question is Favors D vs. Ed Davis' D. Is that gap bigger than the Bogdonavic's offense vs. Favors Offense. My guts says we are going to come out ahead.

posibly, but the equation is more complex. favors played on starting pf and backup center, his primary backup at pf were crowder, secondary being niang

now those rotation spaces gonna be filled by davis at center backup, and at pf it may be some group of players sloting minutes there, bogdanovic, green, o'neal, niang...

and that's only for the spots where favs played, cause this roster revamp affect others positions too

Maybe we will miss him more than we think.

And now I'll brace myself to get flamed by all the triggered anti-advanced-stats people here.

D’angelo Russell ahead of Kawhi lmfao. The Nets sucked on d and he’s not good.

Trash.

Just for sag, Jae is 0.32 and Bojan is -0.32. Or something like that. So according to this, Jae is better. But not by that much. And we know Bojan is way better on offense so that bodes well.

I still want one badass at the 3/4.

Favors was the consummate pro. Never bitched. Never openly complained. Never pouted about a less-than-ideal role on the team.

Favors > Exum

Really wish they would’ve added Exum to the trade for Conley so they could match contracts and operating over the cap.

Sign and trade for Bojan with Phoenix and Indy (which would’ve been SO easy with Rubio going to Phoenix and T. J. Warren already part of a trade with Indiana.)

Keep Favors. $17.25 would’ve been a great contract to have at the trade deadline as well.)

Conley, Mitchell, O’Neale, Bogdanovic, Jingles, Favors and Gobert is a damn good 7 man start for a playoff rotation. Use the full MLE ($9.3 million) on one guy, the BAE ($3.6 million) on another and then trade for a guy using Burks trade exception.

Add a backup PG, a stretchy 4 and another wing. Between those three and Niang, and you’re all set. Too bad they had to go another route. Oh well.

*for 23 minutes a game which allowed him to be in the best shape of his life, measured by an immediately noticeably flawed metric.

He always have been great, but Jazz did not have trouble covering the inside, they covered their gaps with the trades they've made this offseason. Favors is great but Jazz need different types of players to pay for right now and they got 'em. Was good for Faves too.
