Does Biyombo=Evans?

I want to mean here but won't. Bro, you're just way, way off here.

Strengths: An absolutely jaw dropping physical specimen with his combination of size, length, strength, athleticism and mobility Very disruptive defensively and rebounds the ball well Has a 7'8" wingspan making him a force as a shot blocker. Runs the floor well Great hands, has no problems catching the ball or rebounding Extremely agile, he can fall down on the court like a cat, not heavily like most big man Very coach-able and a hard working kid

Weaknesses: Still doesn't have much offensive game to speak of, he's still learning the game Must continue working hard to maximize his great potential.

Strengths: A bigtime shot blocker with tremendous length (7-7 wingspan) and athleticism for a bigman. Intimidating force on the defensive end ... Protects the rim well and shows excellent timing and reflexes on blocked shots ... Runs the floor very fast. Plays with a high motor, brings energy to the team defensively ... Powerful frame. Already has an NBA body ... Hustles for rebounds ... Shows a mature, positive attitude. Speaks English well ... His offensive rebounding and put backs are currently his most effective offensive weapon ...

Weaknesses: Offensive game is as raw as it gets and a long ways from being effective at the NBA level ... Basic fundamentals and technique are way behind, and may never catch up ...

Strengths: An energy player with an extremely long wingspan and high level athleticism … He is a very quick and explosive leaper and he will try to dunk everything in the vicinity of the basket … Runs the floor hard, has long strides and is able to cover a lot of ground very fast ... Is terrific at catching lob passes and finishing strong, shows great timing and has the ability to grab balls that are thrown way out of his area ... He is an aggressive finisher and he looks to convert overtop of defenders and against contact ... Has a decent looking jumper and shoots well from the foul line ... Moves well without the ball in the half court and finds openings to provide a good passing target around the basket for penetrating guards ... He is a good rebounder and is especially dangerous on the offensive end where he gets a lot of tips and put backs ... A defensive weapon because of his ability to block and alter a lot of shots inside ...

Weaknesses: Very raw and unpolished ... Not a skilled player and does not have the repertoire or footwork to be able to score with his back to the basket ..

Yea...cause these three scouting reports sound NOTHING alike.....:)

Sorry I was mean.

Everybody knows that if two people write similar things about two players then that proves that the two players are similar. You wouldn't want to look at a five second video clip or anything and risk having that notion blown completely out of the water.

BB is the type of enforcer who will completely change the personality of a team. He'll make every player better. Have you ever noticed the plaque in Radium Stadium giving Stockton credit as the all time leading steals man? Did you know that even Stockton acknowledges he got that record because Mark Eaton was standing behind him?

I would want Swat on the team even if he had no offensive game at all. The comment that he wasn't tall enough is just stupid. The next time I see someone block a shot or get a rebound with their head will be the first time. Having a standing reach of 9'6" is way more impressive to me than being 7' tall. As a matter of fact, his shorter stature will be an advantage in some respects. With his low center of gravity he'll be nearly impossible to push out of the way.

Sene was more than three inches taller and his wingspan was one inch longer than BB. You make no sense.

Hopefully, KOC won't catch this Bongo fever. I would be happy if Jazz pick him up at 12. If we pick him up at 6 then it's better for KOC to do his homework flawlessly. Big NO NO to trading up to get this Congo Bongo. Let someone else to fall in love with him and let someone better to slip down to us.

Now I could get behind that last bongo.

If this guy was american and not from africa nobody would be comparing him to Sene.

And yes there is a huge difference in the scouting reports. Sene was never called aggressive and powerful. He was a finesse player. You can watch it in his game. The aggressive factor alone is a huge difference. And the fact that Biyombo has been improving each month shows his work ethic is much better than Sene. Biyombo even has improved his jump shot according to scouts. He is even showing to be leader on the court and talking to his teammates on defense.

Here is the updated scouting report on draft express.

Dwight Howard's scouting report was exactly the same. So lets not jump to conclusions saying anyone with a similar scouting report to Sene is going to be a bust. He had very similar strengths and weaknesses. Look at Biyombo for what he is. Rather than your preconceived opinion about athletic african big men.

If you think Biyombo and Evans are comparable in any respect then I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail at explaining to you why Biyombo is not comparable to Sene.

Some of you are grasping at straws.

Biyombo to Evans? Ummm no, completely different.

Biyombo to Sene? Ummm no, that's like comparing Zach Randolf to Pau Gasol. Sene was soft and finesse.

Biyombo to Ibaka I think is the best comparison I've seen. Limited (yet developing) offensive game. Very physical and aggressive shotblocker who would immediately improve our interior defense and rebounding.

In this crappy draft, I'd take Biyombo at 6. You should always swing for the fences for talented bigmen. We can find guards in nearly every draft. You cannot find good bigs. Just look @ Favors for crying out loud. We literally traded our franchise player, all star, and gold metalist, for a few lotto picks and the hope that Favors develops into an all-star.

Might as well try and make that trade count for something. Draft Biyombo(or the best big available)

Whiteside, Thabeet, etc were never known for their aggressiveness. They were also known for their lack of coordination and poor quickness and no strength. They were also expected to be projects. Just because Thabeet and Whiteside aren't Shaq right now doesn't mean they were disasters. We'll see what happens here in 5 years. I never thought I'd see Dwight Howard dominate the way he is today. Yet he is. KOC and Jazz Nation is hoping that Favors develops into a Dwight Howard like player. Otherwise, that trade we just pulled looks pretty damn bad.
