Well, he's in the record books for worst shooting percentage 5 games into an NBA season. Different words come to mind than exciting, but to each their own.
you sure can't say he's been dull

Before I post this I want the record to be clear that I absolutely love Mitchell. But according to ESPN he has a PER of -0.27
That's negative PER. I had never seen a player with a negative PER (I dont look at players PER often for the record) But that does seem a bit odd to see a player with a negative PER
And this has put Alec Burks at the end of the bench ......Burks is the new Dante Exum (DNP)for this year

Mitchell is a great shooter...........he just isn't a great maker.
One of my favorite Sloan quotes ever about the team having enough shooting guards, they just needed a making guard.
Quin is frustrating me. Guys aren't getting open for shots so he doesn't play the one guy that is best at getting to the hoop: Burks. Quin gets an F- for coaching. And this after his A for the Denver game when he made great adjustments and played the hot hands.
How people have been comparing him to players whose identities are lights-out shooters (Lillard, Eric Gordon) is totally ****ing mystifying. Don't you have to make shots to earn a reputation as a great shooter? Yes, his form is nice.
DANTE EXUM was lambasted by some morons here because he shot less than 30% from 3 point range.
Guess what, Mitchell is shooting with 25% fg% and 16% 3pts.

For the record, I've always thought the bleary-eyed rhetoric about Mitchell around here has been absurd, but it bears mentioning that Hayward also had a negative PER for a number of months to start his NBA career. He was a god-awful player who also wasn't passing the eye test.
This.
I think the premature addolations were thrust upon Mitchell because he's the "rebound." We loved Hayward, he dumped us, and now we're "dating" Mitchell. We don't know how much we truly like him yet but that's not the point. We're dating him and we have to say we like him so the world knows we're over Hayward.
It's sort of pathetic really. It reeks of the inferiority complex for which Jazz fans are known. That's not to say other fanbases wouldn't be doing the same thing but it certainly doesn't help our image.
