What's new

don't believe the hype - only Jabari parker is the sure thing

Ever heard of fallacy by analogy?

And yes, Wiggins has a 44+ inch max vert. At the LeBron James Skills Academy this summer his vertical was literally off the charts (the device couldn't measure how high he was jumping).

Here's the article: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1697821-star-nba-prospect-andrew-wiggins-can-jump-really-high

i'll believe it when he can do that at the predraft measurement. glen robinson jr. also needed something more than 12ft 3inch measuring stick. i expect grob jr to be around 40 inch max vert.

oh by the way, in the history of NBA predraft highest max vert is 46 inch by 6ft 4 1/2 dj stephens

vince carter was 43.
nate robinson was 43.5.

if wiggins can jump 44, then i'll be highly impressed. so far i haven't seen that kinda leaping ability from him. if he is indeed a legit 6ft 8 then his head has to be routinely near the rim every time he attempts a dunk in a clean lane. because all he needs to do is jump 38 1/2 inch to hit the rim with his head(i'm assuming his shoe to be 1 1/2 inch lift).

Oh my ****ing god. They. Measured. His. Vertical. What does it matter if it was at the draft combine or at a circus?

I like both Jabari and Wiggens. I dont know why Wiggens has to suck because Jabari is good.

I still believe in Wiggens.

Then let me show you.

If those gifs prove he's the BEST athlete to ever play basketball, then Jeremy Evans must be in contention as well! There's more to athleticism than jumping high. He's not that fast in transition. He's not very strong. I'd say he's a once in a draft athlete...

It's okay. Not everyone can scout talent. I'm serious.

do you believe in santa too? in NFL combine, many supposedly legit 4.3 guy end up running much lower. don't believe everything people say. timmy hardaway jr in the nba is listed at 6ft 6. many fans think he is 6ft 6. announcers say he is 6ft 6. guess what? he was measured at 6ft 4 1/2 barefoot.

do your own research and draw your own conclusion because as far as i'm concerned only legitimate numbers are done during the predraft measurement.

no doubt wiggins is a great athlete. but him being once in a generate athlete? i don't know man. IMO once in a generation athletes are noticeably different from the tape.

the way MJ did that patented triple pump between 3 defenders? that was special.
the way shaq moved at 300lb for magic and then 330lb when he was in LA? that was something special.
the way bron ran the floor as a rookie carrying 240lb weight was something special.

show me special. make my jaw drop. then i'll pimp him to be an elite athlete. if he can't do that by now then i suspect he won't do that anytime soon.

The conversation at hand is purely about whether or not Wiggins has a high vertical leap. I provided quantified evidence that he does, and he responded saying that he hasn't seen it, so I showed him. Pretty simple.
