So of course no one wants this..... but here's the scenario:

During his administration, we had serious breaches of executive power, more than anyone has accused Trump of, or dreamed of accusing Trump of, but we have failed to ever start a thread about Impeachment of Obama. Perhaps it is too late for that, but the question is coming out now whether Obama should be criminally prosecuted for acts while President.

For the record, Rush Limbaugh has rejected the idea, saying it would just be a very bad thing to start doing..... Prosecuting former Presidents like a lot of Dems have said they intend to do with Trump.

Mark Levin is against it. Hannity is against it. McConnell and Graham are against it. Breitbart, Wilcow, almost any important politically conservative commentator is against it.

So, I could not really just call this thread "Prosecute Obama", so I'll cast it in it's true light. To truly be entirely above the law, you need to be something like an Emperor.

Of course, nothing really happens in a vacuum, so in reality this thread is about The Cause which so many Americans now believe in, that justifies whatever is necessary to promote the cause of saving the world into a utopian future managed by an intellectually superior and properly connected set of administrators who are sufficiently compliant with the needs of the more important financial stakeholders.

    Thesis Number One:

Obama ordered the surveillance and legal/political takedown of Mike Flynn.

Flynn is a democrat, and was Obama's Director of Intelligence...… a member of his cabinet of high rank. But he became a problem when he voiced opposition to Obama's Nuclear Iran Deal. He was let go or resigned??? I don't know. But he joined Trump's campaign early on, and after Trump's election he was in Trump's planned administration in a position that would have enabled him to bring out a lot of Obama's skeleton closet holdings....

So right now, there is media storm over "unmaskings" and whatnot involving Flynn. But Andrew McCabe wrote in his book that the reason he investigated Flynn was a PDB request. Presidential
Daily Briefing. People under Obama's control, getting him the information he needed or wanted. The specific request was for the call between the Russian Ambassador and Flynn, who was outside the country, in the Dominican Republic, the day or the day after Obama routed out a bunch of Russian officials in the US on spy charges.

This is an outgoing Administration illegally spying on incoming Administration officials.

It puts a whole new light on Obama's palatial Washington DC "new home" when he supposedly left office, and arguably sheds light on the organization of the supposed "Resistance" movement..... a deliberate political attack on the Constitutional and legal framework of our nation which used to effectively provide for an orderly transfer of power in accord with election results.

It is actually as treasonous as any conduct can be towards our nation.

ah, But Trump himself does not want the case to play that far. He did not want to prosecute Hillary, and acted to squelch investigations into her conduct. Bill Barr said today that he does not want our country to get into this kind of criminalization of political difference.

So I guess we just have to find a few little chumps and slap them on the wrists or something, when all their defense claums will be "I was following orders" and such.

But lets just realize what this means.

The people in this country have lost their political voice.

I wrap myself in tinfoil because while all CTs are not true, I believe so many are, that pick almost any one and it's likely to be true. The secrecy around which our government and many corporations operate is a clear sign that they're hiding things they don't want us to know

    Hillary isn’t being indicted.

Trump isn’t being taken out of the White House in handcuffs, nor is he being impeached. Mueller isn’t “bringing down Trump.”

While there may be some political theater, the closest Obama will come to an indictment is in the court of public opinion.

There’s a pattern to these things. No amount of wishful thinking will bring anything of these things to fruition, and everybody knows it, but everyone loves to entertain their fantasies, and just like every JFCer starts a trade proposal with “this will never happen,” they eventually end up drinking their own Kool Aid, looking for all the legitimate reasons why the other team wants to trade us their budding star for Miye Oni, and then end up with an erection to nowhere.

Obama did increase the power of the presidential office. Some of what Trump is doing today is the fault of Obama for setting a precedent for a president to over step his office. Way too many executive orders from him.

Lol, at a lot of that though.

I think that’s one of the things that fueled the reaction to the election of Trump. There was a generally believed sentiment that republicans would never win another presidential election if they didn’t ____ or if they continued to do ____, and the expansion of executive power was ignored and dismissed. I think a lot of people were confronted with that reality when they realized someone they didn’t want having all that power now had all that power. Up until that point, many were content with the expansion of executive power because they had no reason not to trust it, and couldn’t foresee it changing hands.

I started out believing "Trump is Hillary's Perot", funny that rhymes with an obscene reference that amounts to essentially the same idea....

I still wonder if Trump is not, in ultimate essence, a "foil"..... a sort of public manipulation stunt, a very long-range darkside psy-op..... sorta like tricking the nutjobs out into the open.....

But the persistent hate level of the TrumpDumpsters had me believing he is genuine.

People thought that? Dummies. There will always be Republican presidents and there will always be Democratic presidents as long as the nation is as evenly split as it currently is (and has been) and we have a 2 party system.

I would like there to be no republican OR Democratic president. Would love to see an American president who wanted to represent and help all americans. Won't happen as long as there is so much vitriol and partisanship. Not enough incentive for change maybe. I don't know.

Politics sure do suck as they currently function in our collective every day life. They provide so much hate and negativity in the collective populations lives.

So you determine whether someone is genuine or not by level of hate against them. The more hated they are the more genuine they are? Strange measuring stick. I know alot of fake *** people who are hated by everyone. Being hated doesn't equal being genuine.

Agreed. This has been the trend since Carter, and it gets worse with every President.

No one has ramped up executive power more than Trump, and no one who listed to Trump's campaign should have been surprised by it.

Further, as the populace shifts in opinions from generation to generation, the parties will follow along and continue to split the vote.
