Following potential 2013 draftees

By the way, with Anthony Davis being one of the elite collegiate shot blockers of all time (no hyperbole), I thought I would compare where Noel is vs. Davis through the first 20 games of their freshman seasons.

Remarkably;

Davis - 93 blks
Noel - 94 blks

Noel is a great shotblocker too but wonder how much MKG and better team defense kept Davis from as many shot blocking opportunities.

Hard to say, but I do consider Davis better at everything .. But not much better at shot blocking.
I did think it was pretty remarkable that Noel got 5 blocks after his 4th foul. Pretty controlled defense.

To me, Noels appears to get most of his blocked shots at around nine and a half feet and under, I suppose because he's so quick off the floor. And rather than playing seven footers every night like he may in the NBA, he's playing oftentimes against guys 6'9" or smaller and far less athletic than say NBA standards. To me, I'm not sure this shot blocking success will even close to translate in the NBA where he seems like he could get pushed around or won't have the footing he'll need to jump above the rim and get his blocks. Like maybe his best comparison, off the top of my head, may be Shawn Kemp as far as blocks go. I know Kemp was a PF but it's who comes to mind.

His shot blocking translates. Zero doubt. Like with Davis, he'll need a couple years of maturity (strength and IQ), but he's a lock for a stellar defender.

Burke
6/11 - 18 points
8 assists - 1 TO
4 rebounds

20 point win vs Northwestern

Again, he is perfect for our offense as a facilitator.
