Following Potential 2020 draftees

I think I might prefer a prospect like Robert Woodard. Much more polished shooter, better athlete, absolutely yoked, probably about the same size length wise (think both are right above 7'). Only negative is that he's 2 years older than Williams, but I also doubt Williams actually drops to 23.

My criticism of Patrick Williams is that he seems to stay upright on offense, and his basic dribble limits his ability to get by guys. Now maybe that's just the role he was playing most of the time at FSU, and he can probably do more than he's shown on offense. He's strong and sneaky explosive and can probably get where he wants to by overpowering guys. What he can do--spot up, mid-range, crash the glass, defend 2 or 3 positions--looks like it will translate.

I have to look again at Woodard.

According to his Wiki Pat Williams is only 18 and will turn 19 in August, so super young. Possibly the youngest player in the NBA when he gets drafted (if he stays in).
it's what makes me think he's going to be gone by the time the Jazz pick. Jazz best case scenario is Saddiq Bey, but he's gonna be long gone. I think Xavier Tillman would help the Jazz quite a bit as well

I think Jordan Nwora is a safe if not terribly exciting pick. I think offensively he can be similar to Dillon Brooks, and he's a bit tougher and more defensively engaged than Brooks. To me, that's more or less the Jazz's floor in this draft.

Another guy who could help the Jazz defensively would be Paul Reed, imo.

Utah isnt gonna take Nwora in the first rd. I'd be shocked.

Paul Reed is a fun player, DePaul was a fun team this year. He's gonna fall to the 2nd rd tho.

The idea being Nesmith can get downhill and get to the rim a bit more than Hield, and he's similar athletically to Levert. Hield is the right comp though.
I mean... did you watch a bunch of vanderbilt games this year before he went down with a foot fracture??

Buddy Hield is far more athletic than Nesmith, he reportedly jumped 40" for the Lakers.. Nesmith couldnt sniff that even before the foot fracture....

I dont think what you're talking about with him getting downhill is something we're gonna be seeing often or anytime soon with any sort of consistency in the NBA either..

He's a floor spacer, who's not gonna chuck up dumb shots... Which if u watch Buddy Hield, he takes 2-3 dumb/hero shots every game, with at least one wild forray dribbling into the paint with the hard tunnelvision locked in...

Agreed on Bey as well. Tillman reads a lot like Trevor Booker to me, so it'd be a great pickup, just hard to justify when there will probably be several rotation potential with starter upside wings available.
