Why would Jamie and the Frey's go help take Winterfell from the house they gave it to in the first place?

Connection with Brienne, fulfilling his oath to Lady Stark of protecting her daughters and returning them to Winterfell.

I'll admit, it's WAY more likely to be from the Vale. I could even see Arya hopping ship from Bravos into the Vale to travel together. But if word doesn't get up to Riverrun that his sister is effed, or if she dies before Jaime can march his army that way, or for whatever reason he gets the letter requesting help and decides to burn it, there's an outside chance Jaime goes back to claim Oathkeeper.
 
Qyburn, or however you spell his name, indicated that the "rumors" he investigated were more, much more than rumors.

I think he found a **** ton of wildfire and he's going to burn the **** out of the faith militant.

I think it will be about the pope. Like some corruption about him which will destroy his image.
