What's new

Game Of Thrones

I found it odd that they didn't have Catelyn observe out loud that the song was "The Rains of Castamere." Sure, Cersei talked about the significance of the song in a previous episode, but most viewers (myself included) aren't going to recognize the song just by how it sounds. It would have been as simple as Cat mumbling the title quietly to herself, or asking Roose Bolton what he thought about it. If I hadn't read the books I'm pretty sure I would have missed the significance.

It was also too bad they couldn't have done the thing with the big tent outside being lit on fire and dropped on the soldiers. Probably it would have eaten through too much of their budget.

But hey, pretty good for the most part. Now we're past the biggest spoiler of the series.

I thought they should have had Catelyn stressing the importance of eating Frey's offerings so they'd be protected guests.

Looking forward to next week and the anticipated cliffhanger.

It's been long enough since I read the books that I'm not even sure what the cliffhanger(s) will be. I'm sure they'll show Jon getting back to Castle Black, and then the Watch preparing for a Wildling attack. They may even end the episode just as the attack has begun. But I'm not quite sure what they'll do with the other threads to end the season.

Well, I never read the books, so the episode was probably the biggest shock I've ever had watching a TV show.

Spoiler:

Maybe I'm jumping too far ahead but I'm thinking they hit the cliffhanger with Cercei pointing at Tyrion and saying "He killed my son!"

I'm probably wrong.

I actually had a hard time sleeping the night I read this part of the book. Having read it already, watching last night's episode didn't hit me as hard, I'm sure.

Neither could I. I'm going to be exhausted all day. :(

Yeah, I don't think they're going there quite yet. Could be, though.

When I saw that last night's episode was going to be what it was I thought they'd have Joffrey's wedding on the last episode, but I read the description and I don't think that's going to happen.

Like...ever

BTW, I can't post a link to it because there's profanity, but there's a pretty funny YouTube video (about six minutes long) of compiled reactions to the wedding scene. Googling "game of thrones reactions" should bring it up in multiple places.
