General NBA Craziness and How it Applies to Utah

I think they are looking at a center right now and at 24 one of Bam, Ike, or Patton is surely available.

I see what you are saying. So hypothetically (if Hawes opted into the $6+ for next year), we could:

#1 Take Hawes for switching #17 and #24 but I think we probably throw in #55 to make it happen

#2 Take Beverley for #30 or the 2018 OKC pick although I prefer #30.

I guess it's possible. It's not really sexy, but it's possible. Shows Hayward that we're trying to improve the roster with the space that we have.

Yeah I think the OKC pick becomes more valuable because there is no cap hold for it and Houston is trying to drop salary. Not sure if the cap hold for #30 is much more than the min salary roster spot.

No deal involving Spencer Hawes is ever sexy... I apologize.

Just saw that Love was not generating enough trade interest to get George or Butler...

I would think Indiana would do Hood, #24, Favs, and Lyles for Love in a three team trade. Substitute the OKC pick if you need to for Lyles. If Love meant Hayward would stay (I think it would help him go from torn to "hey this might work") then I'd be all over this.

Who is Rose's agent... feel like the Spurs are doing someone a solid by throwing this out there.

Quite possible. However, I wonder if the relationship between spurs management and DL might prevent them from going after Hill. This is a pretty critical year for him in his career, and they might not want to help wreck it when they should have plenty of other options.

LMA is on his way out from SA. I doubt they are getting the high pick they were looking for. Not a huge fan, but he could be an option if Hayward leaves.

LMA would be great next to Rudy. Would cost less than Love, too. Why does this need to be a 'if Hay leaves' scenario?

I'm not a LMA fan with or without Hayward. I don't think he puts us past GS in the next couple years barring some lucky injury to GS. He is vastly overpaid and I think San Antonio realizes that.

I'm indifferent on LMA... he's a cautionary tale for Hayward... had that **** happened in Boston he'd get killed.

If the price is right he is good. I won't give up much though. I think he's appropriately paid now, but could struggle in the future.

I guess it doesn't, but SA is looking for cap room. Utah could trade Diaw and picks to get it done. Don't think we can afford Hill at that point, but maybe they could get creative/move Burks and Favors. I really think we should avoid the tax for one more year.

Also, I believe this trade would have to happen before July so we can use that cap room we have left over. Therefore, it can't really be an if Hay leaves scenario. I guess I just think he'd be a good plan B to replace some of the offense we lose.

Actually only two years left and one is a players option... if the price is right I'm in.

I really see this as the only feasible big move we could make.
