Yeah, a lot of people who travel a ton who make a decent amount of $$$ on vouchers doing this. A lot of times they will ask for volunteers and there will be another available plane a few hours from then.
How can you use force to get somebody to voluntarily leave the plane? Something here does not make sense, either the man doesn't want to get off the plane and they can find somebody else who does without the use of force or it was not a voluntary removal at all. Either way it seems the Airline has screwed the pooch.
I'm all for using force on the general public, most of them are ignorant and dangerous, left to their own devices they probably would have burnt the aircraft to the ground and rolled around in the left over jet fuel. However if you are gong to beat the public, (and you should try it, its a lot of fun.) at least have some defensible reason for it. For starters, applying reason to the situation normally gives you an advantage on them and helps to keep you out of prison.

This has already been explained broh. At least what is the normal process for most airlines has been explained.
The guy agreed to get off the plane for the voucher, hotel and so forth. He then left the plane on his own. When he found out that the next flight was tomorrow and not in a couple hours he ran past security without a ticket or permission and boarded the plane and refused to leave after they asked him to multiple times.
Had he not left the first time they would not have handled it like this. They would have continued to up the offer to get people off the plane. Or they would have started pulling people to the side and offering them. The force might have been excessive but what should they have done in this case? He should not have ran past security and re-boarded the plane. This one is on the passenger but the airline will pay the price for this one even though they really did nothing wrong. They rightfully called the police and the actions of the police are outside of their control.

A doctor who lost his license for 10 years for swapping pills for sex...and current fly works one day a week. He ain't no saint.
The airline had every legal right to take his seat. Obviously would have been much smarter to do it before they boarded. But hell, when security has to come up and get you, and you know you're legally in the wrong, just get off the damn flight.
