I keep hoping that people will stop being close-minded and hateful. It's the last shred of optimism I have left.

Unfortunately so many on this website count those qualities among their positive traits. Hey it's just their opinion right?

Gonna suck for some of these people who were actually born women to have everyone saying "THAT'S A MAN!"

That's so easy to say when you are of European descent, and so obviously untrue when you are not. Although, it's probably less obvious to people in their 20s than to those in their 40s.

And trust me if I decide I hate this place enough to leave one day there will be an epic flameout. You all will know I've lost my ****. GVC will have seemed tame by comparison.

I think it's a particular bugaboo when you're in school. When I was in college I used to fixated on the issue. At one point when I was applying to law school I actually did an econometric analysis of admissions information compiled on lawschoolnumbers.com to figure out roughly how many LSAT points being a minority was worth at various schools (it's a shockingly high number, except at Duke where it's virtually no advantage at all). Needless to say I was seriously invested in the idea that I was getting screwed. My whole tune changed when I started focusing on employment outcomes rather than admissions.

He's already received a warning in this thread for inappropriate, insulting, and demeaning content. He's continuing down the same line of thought that got him the warning. I'm not exactly way out on a limb.

This board's culture is so frequently socially regressive that I'm ashamed to be a part of it. But hey, I'm glad that every few months we can reliably have a "pick on transgendered persons" thread while the usual suspects rally around and argue that they have a legitimate opinion.

So Kicky, how many infractions or warning has Katie recieved? Because Katie has made specific threads about protesting the LDS church or just comments made by them. Im guessing if I or others made threads specifically about protesting gay and transgender events or other current events we would be getting infractions.

Just asking that you keep it fair if people are getting infractions for disagreeing with eachother.
