Look at pornography as an example. Its much more of an issue now because its so damn accessible then it was 30 years ago. When something is easily accessbile more people will try it.

That should be a pretty easy thing to understand.

If you don't think marijuana is easily accessible you're up in the night. It's easily accessible to EVERYONE and it has been illegal for decades. Legalize it and it will cost a little bit more and kids will have a significantly harder time getting it.

I'm sure there are some people who don't use marijuana because it's illegal, but I think most people who don't use it now won't start just because it's legal. There may be some people who try it fr the novelty when it'e legalized, luckily it is not addictive like cigarettes and alcohol.

I really think legalization will make it at least a little less accessible to kids. Also I think the stores are doing well because people want to do things legitimately instead of having to mess around with a dealer.

This is actually a great thing if you are against crime.
The fact that these businesses are doing good probably means that people are not going to drug dealers as much.

Sometimes people go to a drug dealer to buy weed and the drug dealer has other drugs also, and buyer thinks, well im already breaking the law anyway so maybe i will try a little cocaine.

Now since people seem to be buying thier weed from these legit stores, that dont have other drugs like meth and cocaine, then possibly we will have less people doing those harder drugs...... and less drug dealers.

Its the truth.

When i was in high school i started smoking weed and it was very easy to get since drug dealers dont ask for ID or care how old you are.... i was also friends with the people i bought from and one day my dealer had some acid and told me it was fun and asked if i wanted to try it.

I figured what the hell, im already breaking the law and doing drugs anyway (weed) so i took the acid and he was right. It was fun

From there i did lots of acid and weed which led to other hard drugs.


Point is, if weed were legal it would have been harder for me to obtain (like alcohol, which was harder for me to get than pot) and i might have never tried acid, coke, meth, crack, shrooms, opium, etc.

And as an adult that could go to a store to purchase weed, there would be less access and temptation to try a harder drug.
