Its Time to Tank

The time to tank was from the very start. And just as I expected - getting rid off Conley would have taken us a long way towards the path to Wemby...
Even if we had just not traded Bogey for a functional NBA player in KO we likely would have turned 4 close wins into losses. Only like 3 games out of 7th spot... it isn't just about Wemby... we still have options to trade our way up the lotto standings.

This whole underdog team winning was cute and all, but what did we really win? A bunch of meaningless games that noone will remember in 2 years... We need to lose and lose a ton. Like... YESTERDAY.
Let's see what we get if we sell. If we sold at the beginning of the season it would be a garbage return like the Bogey trade.

If we are able to get 1 or 2 first that outweighs a 5% better chance in the lottery

Tonight's game is a must lose if the tank can live. Bulls a team that needs to pass us and we need to be competitive to push the Nets or Sixers down the standings. Could end up folding a bit if they continue to suck.
imo there is no full tank mode available with this coach. Even if the front office has every intention of forcing Hardy to try to only develop younger players. Or if they simply ask him to create versatility for long term success or some other line of ****, making them play in roles they are not fully engaged in or something. The only way this team is not in the play in tournament or better, is if they sell low on EVERYONE at the deadline that is older than 22.

We don't need go into a full tank mode because there is more parity this year than ever before. We just need to part out a couple pieces while making an effort to rest goes with the excuse that we want some of the youngsters to gain experience.

You are not wrong, about parting out a couple of players if they are in fact any good, but that would be pseudo development to lessen the teams ability to play at a high level no matter who was raw and inserted into the winning line up, as opposed to just fielding a team of misfits that have no chance of developing any good habits and are only here to lose so they can be replaced by better drafted players or something.
I don't think Danny is patient enough to build through the draft by tanking or even pseudo developing means at all.
I think unless he trades a couple of good players for a younger higher value player, that is seen a win even if not right away, then he won't sell at all outside of getting off a contract he wants gone.

If the Jazz committed to a tank they could possibly get two of the top 3 picks in the draft.

Has that ever happened before for any of the major sports?
