Its Time to Tank

Yeah I dont like that logjam either. Hardy cannot expect to evaluate guys solely based on practice reps either. Also you never know.. taking away the safety net from Sexton might elevate him in unexpected ways.
Concern with Bull imo is he still doesn't look as fast or controlled as he did before injury. His outside shooting is not good either. I do like his improved IQ playing well rather quickly in a different system different job etc but he is not there yet. long recovery with those injuries given the level he was at physically prior.
I also am concerned he CAN'T play the 6 either, because his scoring ability is not there like it was pre injury.
I think if they are at all concerned about winning, he won't be getting much run as the lbh, even with Mike traded. Hardy will continue to see if Bull can get back to his old self first with his actions by coming off the bench all season.

I get the math spread out over an 82 game sample... but in a single game event there is no such thing as .1 or .15 wins. We have a game that we are favored by 2 points to win when we are fully healthy... then the news comes out Lauri is sitting... we very well could go to -2.

Sitting JC or Lauri 2-3 games each they would not normally sit... very well might add 2-3 losses. Which if you look at the standings is a huge difference. Maybe all those 50/50 type games don't swing towards losses... but in a 29 game sample you could have 2-3 games go the other way pretty easily.
And the difference between -2 and +2 is something like 55/45 vs. 45/55 to win outright. I mean, it might mean 3 extra losses. As going into the lottery the 10th seed might mean getting Wemby. It's very improbable. It's much more likely that those Lauri/JC rest games lead to no extra losses rather than 3. (So, overall I'd said that's not something that needs that much discussing as the effect is very small anyway.)

Guarantee is strong.. but if we trade Mike, Beasley, Vando and get lesser players or no players back (like waiving Russ)... a little injury management and we could go 10-19 pretty easily.
This I can agree on wholly :)

And let's say that they trade KO and Vando and don't bring any playable bigs back. I think playing Dok 20 minutes has more effect on tanking than Lauri playing 0 :D

I would say as of now the log jam is definitely hindering player development. We already know that Sexton is capable of doing a lot more than he currently is in limited minutes. Ochai is showing a ton of potential so it would be nice to see him getting at least 24 minutes every game to develop. Then obviously we have THT and NAW who have both had stretches of solid play but can't find any minutes in our current rotation.

This entire post is just wrong lmao.

I want Hardy to give us good looks at Ochai, Bolmaro, THT, NAW, Dok, Juzang and Potter when he's rehabbed. It's not tanking, it's player evaluation.
not gonna happen imo. Ocahi will, but others not so much. I don't see the last two even being on the roster if we make more than one deadline trade and they will get pushed off.

What in the heck are you talking about? Sexton looks fine physically and saying his outside shooting isn't good is just weird. The guy is shooting 50.5% from the field and 41.7% from 3.

Look. He is not the player he was in CLE at all. He is smarter, but aside from decent efficiency and numbers that you can use for your argument they are low usage ones.
He is not 100% anyone who saw the Cavs more than twice a season could tell you that.

In his 10 games since coming back from injury:

14.1 PPG on 8.8 attempts per game in 22.7 MPG
56.8% from field
55% from 3

He looks like he’s really struggling.
you should stop now. his numbers are not telling the story .
If that was all the coach looked at Sexton would be the lead guard already and not boxed in like he has been
