Do you want him going to the Spurs because you waffled on an extra $5 or so million per year?
It's not about this, it's about keeping us out of the luxury tax. That deal probably sends us in the lux tax.

My prediction that this team will be a platform for him to run the price up has already come true... Quite frankly it's even more extreme than I could've ever anticipated.
I have also brought up Hill and Hayward and Favors taking less money. If they're gonna do that then what Lindsey's done is a great job --- That seems rather unlikely tho..

WTF are you talking about? You don't massively overpay a player for a plethora of reasons. You know, like resigning your players and adding more talent.
It's 150% of what he's making now. 1.5x16M =~24M
The Jazz arent going to add any more high priced talent, even if Hill signs for 20 million. We are going to have to draft talent, trade for it, or hope we get good enough to where good aging vets sign for the minimum.
It saves 14 million of capspace over the next 3 years if they make a perfectly fair deal(if they subtract the 14M we can give him now from his future salary), or more if Hill gives us some discount for getting tons of money up front.
Those close to 5M per year are NOT a small amount with all the players we are going to be paying. We need this deal if we want any chance to keep this core together.
But at 25 million, can we even keep Ingles? Will we be able to retain Hood? I don't want to pay Hill 25m a year. He's not worth that much. DON'T get it done DL.

So tell me the talent we would be adding. Give me a realistic scenario where we spend that money elsewhere and become a better team.
We've had cap space and have been worrying about paying all of our players for years, well it's time to pay the piper. Stop looking ahead, we are good now and the priority should be staying that way. How do you even classify 'overpay'? What is our record with and without Hill this year? He has been huge for us. People make a lot of money these days, suck it up.
