Agree with Zack having longer arms. Sabonis has two inches on him though and is strong as a bull as well. Its not far fetched to predict that he will be as strong or stronger then Zach in few years.

I think most of Utah folks are butt hurt because Sabonis dominated BYU and Utah any time they played... I remember somebody here was saying he will struggle with Kaufusi or Poeltl and yet he wiped the floor with both of them. I just love watching this tough kid proving doubters wrong again and again.
That could be. In our cases, however, you are a homer and I am neither from Utah nor a fan of the Utes. Sabonis is not 'strong as a bull' relatively speaking - he's in the NBA now. He could be a good pro, no one knows at this point, but he will never be able to get the post position Randolph does nor have a butt Randolphs size to be able to play on the block and box people out as effectively. It's likely he'll never have his touch around the rim either. Becoming a better shooter and passer seems very possible tho. I am rooting for him and hope he has a good NBA career.

If anything from skills translates well from student basketball to NBA is rebounding, and Sabonis was one of the most dominant rebounders in NCAA. So claiming he won't be able to box out people effectively like Randolph just because of butt size is strange. I think it is more to rebounding than just butt size. And for 20 year old kid he was much stronger then most of his opponents so I believe it is safe to predict his strength in the future NBA should not be a problem.
Thought I was dissin the Boomers in my rankings. 2-0. US next. First real game for US since the team formed. First exhibition against Argentina would be the closest to a real game.
Good. He should have been a dominant rebounder in college considering he was extraordinarily tall (given his mobility) for the college game and especially for his non-P5 conference. It just seems silly to laugh off someone else's comparison for him and then use Randolph to help your case, considering he possesses physical abilities and skills that have nothing to do with Sabonis.
You don't think Sabonis's relatively short arms will be problematic, at least Defensively and rebounding wise? Doesn't matter if you're really tall when nearly everyone at your position can reach much higher than you can. He's got a nice wingspan for a wing player I guess.

I wish we would have a chance to compare standing reach of both Sabonis and Randolph because it would be better measurement than wingspan or height - too bad I cant find such data. I picked Randolph because he has similar set of skills - lefty with great footwork, soft touch around the basket, good basketball IQ and great rebounding ability despite limited leaping ability. Luis Scola is another example which may fit Sabonis future NBA model. But Araujo? lol

OK but what got him so high in the pre-draft workouts were stories about his improved shooting was it not?
