Because you're a prick? Or maybe you just didn't understand or forgot what I actually said? I don't presume to know what goes on in your head, and I'm not willing to make baseless accusations.

"a lot" is pretty subjective. I didn't do a lot of community service relative to the amount of proselytizing I did, and I imagine that's the case for a VAST MAJORITY (where have I read that before?) of missionaries. As per the white handbook- the set of rules for missionaries ok'd by the church leadership, also known as the "living prophets"- community service is not supposed to be a priority.

Yes, missionaries do a lot more proselytizing, that's why they go on missions - I'm not arguing that. However, I'm sure most missionaries also do a vast amount of service work for either their wards, members, inactive members, non-members, the community, etc, that add up after 2 years.

And, Dave, I came down a bit hard. Forgive me, but you took a rather harsh tone with those offended by missionaries. You seemed to be asking for the empathy you weren't willing to extend to others, and doing so under false pretenses. If you were here now, I'd give you a big hug (if you'd allow me to).

It will be interesting to see what people do with Chris Johnson this year. Take him early and hope his holdout doesn't last? Pass him up and be the fool that didn't take him?

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be disagreeing with. I did more service as a missionary than I have since the end of my mission. I'm a run-of-the-mill selfish jackass. Duh.

Yep, these are definitely the type of threads that make me miss being a mod, wait...

As to CJ, I'm not considering him until the 2nd round. His probable lack of conditioning scares the hell out of me. He could easily pull a hammy in the 1st quarter of the season (assuming he plays). Much safer options that I prefer in the 1st round.

BTW, stay safe out there in NJ, salmon...looks like it's about to get brutal for the northeast.

Thanks bro. My basement was leaking from a couple windows but the French drain and sump pump did wonders. Thank God my power didn't go out because we had about 10 inches of rain. That doesn't sound insane but typically there's a 10:1 ratio of snow to rain so that's like getting about 100 inches (8.33 feet) of snow, though the density of the snow is what matters and this varies a decent amount. Anyway, the worst is yet to come for some people (not myself), not because the storm's still passing, but because some of the rivers are not going to crest til tomorrow. It's going to get very, VERY ugly for many, many heavily populated towns. I've seen pics where the water level has already consumed cars whole and yet it's still going to get much worse.

Also, what made this so bad was that we had already had a ton of rain this month. After yesterday, we broke the all-time record for rainfall in August. So the ground was just so saturated before the storm even began.

Psyched for this draft tonight. Though it cuts into my Curb and Entourage enjoyment.

Draft tonight, I watched the ESPN draft special and took notes, don't know how much good it will do me
