MAX Hall arrested for shoplifting, busted with cocaine

A few more transgressions like this and BYU fans may finally figure out what everybody else on the planet has known for decades: they're no better than everybody else, they're no worse than everybody else, they're just like everybody else.

If they'd only start acting like it.....
You are just wrong in this case.

BYU is a much different school than most. Like it or hate it, that's a fact.

Sure they have some people that break the rules but I guarantee that byu students drink alcohol less than most schools, have less premarital sex than most schools, have more kids and wives than most schools, watch less rated R movies, swear less, smoke less, have less tattoos, wear more garments, and study more scripture than almost all schools.

Again, I'm not saying that it's good or bad and I don't even care about any of it but it's weird how you think that byu is the same as every other place. It's not.

They pray before kick-off at football games bro. And sing hymns, and display scripture on the jumbo tron.

Dont you think that is kind of unique? Maybe other schools do that too but not many

Think he is saying that despite how different BYU tries to appear, the people who attend and run the school are just as prone to the pitfalls of life despite how perfect and holy they may try (or appear to try) to come off.

I guess I'm just saying that I would bet that byu students avoid the pitfalls like cocaine and other drugs or alcohol, unwanted pregnancies, etc better than students at most schools overall.

Sure it happens, but at a lower percentage

In other words, I don't think most byu students/fans or whatever think that they are perfect like some ute fans seem to think they do

For sure, if anything, this should make BYU more likeable because it reminds people who hate BYU for those reasons that zoobs are people too.

I'm having a hard time believing that the "we should have sympathy for drug addicts" noise coming from BYU fans applies to people that don't attend BYU. I'm having a hard time believing that y'all wouldn't be much more critical than Utes fans are being if the shoe was on the other foot.

Problem is that you lump way too many people into that group
The attitude I'm complaining about appears to me to be institutional. I have no problem believing that there are fans who are not okay with it, and it's even possible that those fans are in the majority, but I still see a tremendous amount of this behavior.
