Mehmet Okur to the Pistons?

He has a good mid range shot. He can definitely develop a three pointer too. I would be willing to take the Rip Hamilton baggage if we get Stuckey and the 8th Pick and send them Bell and Memo.

Kids a beast..

I love how people post youtube videos of one guy's dominance over a (at the time) pretty lackluster team. I could tell it was all bull when his first points were met with absolutely no defense. He literally strolled to the hoop.

Okur for Hamilton and the #8 - I would go for that. If Pistons would take Raja Bell too, I would do that in a heartbeat. In limited games and minutes, Rip still averaged 14 points and 38% from 3. With the #8, Utah could get Jonas Valanciunas, Alec Burks, or Kemba Walker.

If it were the Jazz i'd try Bell, Okur, either or both (rights to Tomic, or Evans) for Rip, Daye & 8th pick and I'd pick Valanciunas and let him develope for the next 2 years in Europe

I agree while Rip is old, he is still only 33. He easily has two more years left that he can contribute on the floor. Until Bell, Rip was a two-time allstar and lead his team to the ECF 7 straight years. We could always use an upgrade at shooting guard and he's one of the best mid range shooters in the history of the NBA.

He makes 24.5 million over the next two years. Is he worth ruining any cap space the Jazz would likely have in 2013 for Richard Hamilton at 34? I think not.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but would you do Hamilton and #8 for Okur, Bell and #12???

Yeah, Rip has 2 years left but at a steep price. However, you get out of Bell and Okur's deal and get the number 8 in which you could probably take a Biyombo or maybe get lucky and have Kemba/Jonas/Leonard fall and grab one of them.

Rip may not be what he once was but he would be perfect in the Jazz offense

Cap space to attract who? CP3? Dwight Howard? Realistically the only way we would land a superstar is having a good championship caliber team. The addition of Hamilton, 8th pick and someone else could help us rebuild our franchise and develop Favors, our draft picks and Hayward. Then come 2013 have Hamilton's 13 million dollar contact be used towards a much younger and raising superstar

The only realistic chance of us getting a super star is if one of them converts to Mormonism.

Trading for a player to trade him later on is a recipe for disaster.

Cap space is for financial flexibility. Jazz would need it to fill depth if Hayward/Favors turn into stars, and to make a run at free agents down the line, or to take on a bigger contract with the salary space in a trade. Hamstringing yourself financially for Richard freakin' Hamilton just doesn't do it for me.
