What's new

Michael Beasley

We wouldn't have to do that. We could ask for Beasley + a TPE. Miami would have to surrender 6 or 7 million dollars of Cap Space, but they'd effectively be getting Boozer for that same Cap Cost which gives them more flexibility to sign other guys. The alternative would be to sign Boozer outright and lose 12 million in Cap Space. My guess is Beasley isn't this cheap, and that Miami isn't going to look Boozer's way until they're sure they're not getting Bosh or Stoudemire.

I'd be down for that. But, I thought you couldnt combine players and TPE's. Am I wrong?

Let's also not forget that Miami is probably the biggest party-town in the NBA. Getting the **** out of that or anything like it might be the only thing to save this kid.

If the Jazz signed and traded Boozer to Miami for Blazeley, then the difference in their salaries would constitute a TPE. Then again, I make a lot of **** up and I might be wrong.

Ahhh. I forgot The Heat were under the cap. I was thinking he was saying we would use our TPE from the Maynor trade wich makes no sense at all. So we would get a TPE in this. Got it.

They wouldn't be using a TPE to acquire Boozer. They'd be creating one because they already have Cap Space. Any amount of Cap Space can be packaged in the form of a TPE, but only up to whatever a team has. Like the Camby deal: The Clippers had the Cap Space to acquire his entire contract. They sent back a worthless second and created a TPE which went to Denver. There may be extra provisions with S&T's, but when Seattle dealt Lewis to Orlando, they took back a 9 or 10 million dollar TPE.

No surprise here. I predicted he would be a bust just by looking at him. The same goes for Cousins. Body language goes a long way in my opinion. Take a flier.

I will say - reluctantly - in defense of Cousins, Cousins is actually a superb physical specimen and is no tweener. One of Beasley's problems immediately (and one that will continue to be there) is how poor his measurements were for a PF (smaller height/length than Wesley Johnson).

He has amazing talent to do a number of things, but he's not and never was a very traditional NBA talent. Cousins is.

.....the Beasley thing would never work for the Jazz. First off, we'd have to bath him in a tub of Drano....just to burn off all those jailhouse tats! Then we'd have to take him to a good barber and let him know that "cornrows" have been out in the NBA for about 4 years now! Then we'd have to give him a brain transplant, because this kids basketball IQ is so low it's not even registering any signs of life!
