What's new

NBA season is suspended

Probably, but for the seasonal flu, a lot of people have antibodies and won't contract it at all, but it's likely that this will hit a lot more people.
Plus, something like 50% of adults in the U.S. get flu shots but there is no vaccine for coronavirus yet. Plus it's roughly twice as contagious as influenza as measured by the R0 number. So yeah, it'll hit a lot more people unless very serious measures are taken.

My point is that a lot more people will get sick with Corona as opposed to the flu, since we don't have any antibodies.
Sorry, I had meant my reply to be to Shad, I'm not sure how you snuck in there.

I'm from Norway, and we just shut down the country today. Really wondering how long this kind of action will be needed for. I can work from home just fine and I have kids big enough to care for themselves, but this is going to be pain for a lot of people, and so many businesses will go bankrupt.

While the virus could certainly be dangerous to your daughter, it's not like it has a 100% mortality rate in any population group. Even the worst risk groups have <50% of dying (but probably a good chance of getting really sick).
The worst death rate now is among those 80 and older with other health conditions and it is about 14% of those infected. The death rate among those 0-9 years is literally 0. No deaths in that age group at all.

Obviously America is trying to kill off the elderly for financial reasons. Thats my Alex Jones take of the day.
I've had thoughts similar to this at times in the past few weeks.
