Actual, substantiated and proven billionaire Mark Cuban, speaking a few days ago on CNN:

Donald Trump is an immediate and present danger to the security of this country. His inability to control the things he says. His inability to understand the impact of what he says. His inability to have situational awareness creates risk for my country and for my kids, for my family, for everybody I know. When the president of the United States speaks...every… word... matters. If there’s a misperception of those words, something he just blurts out, that can have serious economic and security consequences. He has yet to demonstrate that he can keep his mouth shut at the right time. That scares the **** out of me.

This criticism goes beyond partisan politics. Cuban has rarely spoken out on political issues and is unaffiliated with either party. He is speaking out now because a Trump presidency poses an existential threat to the nation. Thin-skinned and quick to anger, deeply ingrained personality traits that he has never shown any ability to overcome, coupled with a pathological compulsion to blurt out whatever is on his mind, all make Trump temperamentally unfit to be president.

Personally what Cuban says on the matter really doesn't matter to me. It has no bearing on my opinion. Him being a billionaire also has no bearing on my opinion.

For what it's worth I do not think he is wrong.

It also makes you seem generous when you’re not. Like when NBC in 2012 gave $500,000 to the Trump Foundation. Trump gets to repeatedly boast to a national audience on his The Apprentice television show that he's donating money (“from my own pocket”) to charities when, in fact, the money came from NBC. Nothing illegal, just a way of filtering funds from NBC to the Trump Foundation and letting him claim the generosity as his own. (The foundation’s tax records show no donations from Trump since 2009, it’s all OPM, other people’s money.)

This one is just a tad over the top. Money is fungible. You're calling out Trump for one of two things:

1. He got NBC to shell out $.5mm to his charity.

2. He has foregone $.5mm in compensation and sent it to his charity instead.

Which of the two stances are you taking?

Not to pick on any one of Trump's critics. . . . Mark Cuban has not earned any more respect than Trump. A point of view without any reasonable basis is just that.

There will be a lot of vitriol, undoubtedly, down the home stretch in this election, but the evidence for an "unbalanced" extremist consists in this sort of statement. Without any discussion of purported facts, forty percent of Americans are dismissed here with expletive epithets.

Trump might be seen by some as an existential threat to the way things are, as in a threat to the ideals of progressivism, and it's understandable he has upset the usual two party puppet show we have seen in the past, where the alleged "two-party political system" offers us a choice without a distinction in terms of resetting our national course towards the ideals of modern progressivism.

How about some full disclosure, for example, regarding the policy outcomes we want from our choice for President in this election.

For many, his loose rhetoric creates the hope for a President who says what he thinks, and his changes in position create the hope that he's willing to think again. Not really such scary stuff. I'm more concerned about politicians who never say what they think, or who believe nothing, and say what their handlers advise, and never listen to me.

If I wanted to do the exercise, I could do a pretty good job of painting a positive picture of progressivism, I just think there needs to be some consideration of the drawbacks.

I'm not sure what anyone in the Hillary/Jeb Bush set of globalists really thinks, personally. I do see that some reliably push the agenda core objectives, and realize that their political careers are locked in with all that. Neither am I sure what Trump really thinks when he's not on stage. . . .. but it does look to me like Trump figures his support comes from people who don't particularly like the way we've been doing.

Count me in on that point, at least.

I’m calling out Trump for neither of those two things. That’s your false dichotomy. Fact is, all we know is NBC donated $.5 million to the Trump Foundation. Whether "he got NBC to shell out” the money is supposition worded to favor Trump’s deal-making prowess, which I’m not inclined to do. The second option is all supposition. Setting up a false dilemma as an introduction to an argument is poor form.

I respect his verbal intelligence (he’s able to express himself exceptionally well) but try to judge his opinions on their own merits. The contrast is that Cuban is a proven billionaire, as demonstrated by his past sale of assets in excess of $3 billon and his more recent acquisitions, including ownership stakes in publicly traded companies, whereas Trump’s wealth is much more nebulous and unprovable. Also, a nod to the fact that Cuban has questioned Trump’s net worth as being vastly overstated and inconsequential in light of and compared to his relatively meager (for a supposed billionaire) liquid assets and available cash.

Donald Trump was not considered a true Republican by even the RNC at the outset, and many of the Council of Foreign Relations, Republican and Democrat, consider him a threat to their general programs, and so judging by the folks who are most vocal in criticizing him, they believe he will do some things they don't want. I doubt even that, really, because I see him being a player when he's at the plate, or has the ball.... whatever sports figure you care to apply.

If that's the case, he's not an "idiot" any more than any other politician, he's just trying to capitalize on existing voter malcontent.

I'm not really trying to change your mind. I consider that your business. Mine is to make some waves in JazzFanz, fun I hope.

This is not about R vs. D or his stance on the issues or Hillary. This is about Trump posing a massive threat to our country by his sheer belligerence. Anyone with half a brain can see that. Unfortunately nearly half of our populace don't even have half a brain.

I think quantitative measures of wealth are all pretty inconsequential in regard to the worth of an idea.

Real Estate, and Art, have monetary value that is speculative until the moment they are sold. Usually, real estate values are estimated by applying a multiplier to a cash flow generated by the property, as rents or as cash receipts from casinos.

Why is it important to conflate opinion with net worth??? It's a given everybody has an opinion and a smell, and mostly others think they both stink. Well, not mine. lol.

So the way I analyze Cuban's remark, I'd figure he thinks a lot of himself..... so does Trump.
