What's new

Never Trump

I agree with this.

If as many people voted for Johnson as told me that they WOULD vote for Johnson if they didn't worry about wasting their vote, then HE WOULD BE IN THE LEAD.

There's this huge, groupthink phenomenon where people think that if they voted for Johnson they'd throw it away. This needs to be broken, somehow.

GJ has to get into the debates. Then maybe the perception changes. He needs to be polling at 15%. CNN has him 13% this week.

I don't understand this fallacy. All polls that show Johnson in them hurt Clinton as much Trump. They wont hand Clinton anything, the R voting base did when they elected Trump as their nominee.

I've never actually voted for the winner, except Reagan, in my lifetime. Almost all third party votes with less than 2%.

15% is way to high a bar for public debates. I say 1%, maybe, if that. Anyone with a coherent plan.

uhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm. . . . . .

There's a problem with that requirement, too. If it were a "coherent plan" that got you in, where would Trump and Hillary go? Thirty second sound bites is more than it takes to make their case, laying out the whole of their thoughts.

Ballot access is plenty hard. If the requirement to be in the debates was that you had to get on the ballot in all 50 states then this year there would be 3 candidates Dem,Rep,Lib. If the requirement was that you needed to be on enough state ballots to have a mathematical chance of winning the election outright then there would be 4 candidates in the debates Dem,Rep,Lib,Grn.

Even looking back there would not be more than 4 candidates on the stage under either scenario.
