What's new

Never Trump

That's like 5% of the point, but okay. Get offended. I see the anti-woman wording all over the place. You don't. I say again, "If she had a penis you'd be calling them leadership qualities." Instead I see her described as "shrill" a "witch" a "queen bee" and I see her mocked for displaying aggression. No man is criticised in such a way. But women are. I saw it in the Navy when women were in charge. I see it outside the Navy. And I see it now, when a woman runs for president. She's not supposed to act like a man, she's supposed to act demure, but she doesn't, so she's shrill and angry.

Joe, I liked it better when we didn't talk about this election. Honestly. I don't want to be a jerk to you, but I absolutely detest your take on these candidates. I can't help but to disrespect your point of view. I think everything depends on Trump not winning. I don't want demagogues to ever win. Ever. Trump is a demagogue. It's dangerous. It speaks to the lower aspect of our character. It degrades us. It is simply embarrassing

Based on the sorts of arguments you make and the way you present them it doesn't surprise me that you don't want to hear from anyone who disagrees.

This is how I see it as well. And seen this way, it would not really matter if I then saw Hillary as a great candidate, or simply the lesser of two bad candidates, and someone I would not vote for otherwise. I could see Hillary either way, and still conclude that I could never vote for a candidate for whom white nationalists say, in so many words, "He's one of us. He's legitimizing us. He's saying it's OK for us to have scapegoats for our anger and dislikes. He's saying it's OK for groups of Americans to hate other groups of Americans".

There is a reason far right hate groups are responding to Trump in that fashion. And it's highly irresponsible for him to send the dog whistles he does. At a time when racial tensions seem to be off the charts, I can't imagine voting for someone who appeals to racial animus and encourages that animus among far right extremists. I fail to understand how that could possibly be helpful at a time when racial tensions are off the charts. Rather, it appears as the worse thing we could do. And these folks are not voting for Hillary. They are voting for Trump.

One candidate just seems like the more dangerous choice. If there are only two who can possibly win, I cannot vote for the one who appears more dangerous and who appeals to our baser instincts.

Always, always, always, always avoid like the plague people who appeal to your baser instincts. If you don't think you, and we, are better then that, then examine yourself.

While I am a man who can be rational, i don't believe that is always the right way. Often our reason is not appropriate because we are not fully informed, or don't see the applicable right principles.

But it is always a better exercise to understand other views and be respectful towards others. Well, or maybe not, if they are beyond help.

Trump supporters should be treated the way people should have treated Hitler supporters. He is a dangerous demagogue.

Your arguments sometimes perplex me, but you certainly deserve credit for making your points with respect.

Give me a break. This is the most overblown **** that has come from this election. This country isnt even set up to give power to a Hitler type.

There is a huge difference between not being a white guilt race baiter, and a ruthless dictator set out to murder millions of people. There is a huge difference between not wanting more immigration than the country can handle and fighting terrorism, than actually being the aggressor that seeks out to murder people. Protecting one's self country is not the same murder.

Hitler and Trump are not the same. Not even ****ing close. To suggest otherwise is intellectually dishonesty at its greatest.

Hitler didn't have a resume of gassing women and children when he was running for office.

The comparison to Trump is that, like Hitler, Trump is a demagogue. He is scapegoating marginalized segments of society to the delight of those who technically belong to the privileged segment but who haven't enjoyed many of the privileges. There are so many white men in the U.S. who wonder where all the benefits are and they think tump will protect them from the cultural scourge that Mexicans represent. Plus the dangerous non-Christian horde of Muslim terrorists.

Hitler most likely (let's say 90%, hopefully) couldn't happen in the U.S.. Not the full blown, concentration camps, final solution, WWIII stuff. But that's not what we're saying in that comparison. We're talking about the election, in the U.S., of a demagogue. A politician who appeals to our lower selves. A candidate that stokes our nationalistic pride and identifies those who represent the core of what it means to be an American as someone like "me." And in identifying a real American as someone like me he also identifies those who are not real Americans, those who do not represent the greatness of the America we will create. those who are different than "me." He promises that to be a real American is to be great and to win and to have and he will give us what we deserve, what we are owed, what we are entitled to. And those who are not like "us" will pay for it all, because we've sacrificed and suffered for their benefit for too long. Now we get ours.

Do it trump. Do it. Make America hate again.

He'll never reach ultimate Hitler status. He's just a baby Hitler. And the U.S. isn't the ideal place for a baby Hitler to evolve into ultimate Hitler. But all the same, let's abort this **** now and forget that this nasty **** ever happened in the first place.

You make Hitler seem like a Pokémon.

I remember in one of his earlier rallies, as a small group of protestors were being led out, he told the crowd that these were not good Americans, that they were in fact the worst Americans. He pits Americans against Americans. The divisions are there, and he encourages them. Never let me hear him call himself a unifier.....

Yeah. Those comments he made about a basket of deplorables were truly obscene.

It's possible to point out the massive faults of one candidate without defending or propping up the other.

This is why people place you in the camp of his supporters. This is absolutely a valid critique of him. It doesn't have anything to do with her and what she does or does not do. Usually any time something bad is said about him you come in to defend him or try and lessen it by pointing at her.

Just an observation.
