Never Trump

My neighbor took down his Confederate Flag yesterday to put up a Trump one.

Are you in the Salt Lake area?

The confederate flag is a dumb loser flag no matter what, but a person who lives above the Mason-Dixon line flying it is especially stupid, imho. And for them it can mean nothing other than that they think slavery wasn't all that bad.

So yeah, a Trump supporter.

I notice this morning a great number of articles appearing which back up exactly what I was suggesting yesterday, namely, the dangers to our democracy that may come to the fore in the post election period, as Trump convinces his followers that a conspiracy of the news media coming out in support of lies created by the Clinton machine will result in a rigged election. Here are a few such pieces....

Calls for an armed revolution if Trump loses:

And more...

This whole election may have taken a personal toll on me. A heart attack that began last Monday, lasting 16 hours into Tuesday. I hate ER's so much, but I finally let my wife take me to the ER. 100% blockage inside a stent in my right coronary artery. Somehow, despite my stupid, stupid, stubbornness, very little damage to the heart. My wife and I have agreed, no more shouting matches involving this election. We'll have to fight about something else, lol.....

Or, better yet, no more getting worked up for any reason!

Wow, Red, so sorry to hear about that. I can definitely relate to the stress you may have been feeling. I hope you're doing well now and that we can put this horrible time in our history behind us. Since I voted, I've tried to stay away from politics as much as I can, because it has affected me physically as well. To your other points, we have the Kansas "Crusaders" who were planning on bombing Somali Muslim immigrants "to start a war."

Thanks so much for your kind words, JJAS. I think I am feeling much better, and the Mrs. and I are off for a walk on the beach this fine Fall day! Take care, my friend, and thanks for the link. I had heard about that; just the craziest of times.

Red, take care of yourself. Seriously. If you’re stressed out over the election, please just step away for a week or two. Trump has lost the election. Early voting trends are very favorable for Clinton, even more so than Obama in 2008 and 2012. Post election violence is a concern but I think it’s overstated. Most people will be relieved when the election is over and just want to get back to their daily lives, not that we won’t see forms of social unrest in coming years as a consequence of demographic change, but our country and democracy will survive. Make sure you survive. These are interesting times. Don’t miss out on them. I always look forward to your thoughts and hope to hear in the near future that you’re doing and feeling better.

Mailed my ballot in today.

HRC has my vote --OFFICIAL--

Same. Voted for Hillary Clinton. Don't know most people on the ballot, so I voted for whoever has the best name. Misty Snow anyone? Hell yes!
