Ya it's always advantageous to get into a free throw shooting competition when you have a head start like the blazers did.
Also, you just make certain to inbound to your best free throw shooter.
Then the jazz are trying for a 3 so not necessarily inbounding to their best free throw shooter.

Blazers have all the advantages by playing the foul game.

NBA players are better today at shooting and making 3's than ever before.

Btw I bet there are stats that back up fouling when up 3 being the better decision. I have no idea how to look that up though.
Thee aren't. Generally speaking extending the game to more possessions is not in favor of the team who is ahead.

I see a better argument for it within 5 seconds and especially when the other team has no TOs, but the Blazers started doing it too early and gave themsleves a higher chance of losing.

Seemed like Hardy played a bunch of weird lineups tonight. Wonder if he’s fishing for some more data or if he’s concerned about the bench +/-

he was like Rubashov on a 5th date .. fumbling and feeling his way around in the dark to no avail until he realised it was a lost cause.

He just matched the players who could match the Blazers defensively instead of doing the style clash that they were doing earlier

Cody may have saved his hide tonight. He and Harkless competed.

Homey don't get over excited like a teenage boy touching boobie for the first time, you'll make a mess of your pants. The lad showed something, he'll need to keep showing out before I'll let him sit on the end of the bench.

? He was definitely a positive and did better than any other non Harkless Jazz player at guarding on ball.
I think over the long run Cody being in the rotation is a net negative for the team, but he provided exactly what the Jazz needed to get back in the game

Cody needs to figure out how to score when he doesn't have an open lane to the rim. He needs to hit 3PAs and have a counter when he gets closed out on. Cody's normally pretty good in transition. He's pretty fast and finishes well if there isn't a big body in front of him.
