It’s not hate, he just makes sense as a likely trade candidate. The Collins hate is through the roof.

It’s an isolated case which has been settled in a court of law. And there’s two sides to every story. Pretty sure he’s not P Diddy. I support Danny and Ryan cause they rolling the dice in this market and have the most to lose.On the court, I would root for him and think he would fit well assuming Clarkson doesn't stay long. Off the court, I'd hate his guts.
We get two Balls, which we haven’t had for a while. Here is my Collins idea. I do like him and all our guys incl the one in my avatar. Since Ainge is "big game hunting" this might be a "star" we can actually get:
To Utah: Lamelo Ball, Grant Williams, Nick Richards, Lonzo Ball, #42 pick in this draft
To Charlotte: Keyonte, Kessler, Clarkson, #10, '25 Minn FRP, '27 Minn FRP
To Chicago: John Collins, #29 pick
Ainge gets his "star" plus his brother who now has a new meniscus. Apparently Jazz have been working out 2nd round guys like Bona.
Charlotte gets 3 FRP's, Key, and Kessler to build around Brandon Miller. They now have 2 picks in the top 10 of this draft. Their current young center Mark Williams has been hobbled all year with some sort of mysterious foot ailment.
The Bulls get out of Ball business and add a pro in Collins who would also be insurance in case they lose Patrick Williams.
Y'all are free to hate away..
He's citing Mike Scotto from HoopsHype, but it's probably mostly smoke.
Number 2 is the one that will drive everyone crazy and the one I think is by far the favorite lol. There has been zero smoke towards a Lauri trade, which is something we talk about a lot here. The messaging from everyone has been consistent with Scotto. Every single "rumbling" has us trading/acquiring some kind of almost guy. Our options this year are:
1. Trade for win now piece
2. Do nothing, draft and make small trades
3. Trade everyone except for Lauri
Those are our 3 most likely paths in order of likelihood imo.

That's interesting. I'd be curious about getting our pick back and being done with the uncertainty. If OKC doesn't use their space to sign another big, I can see them having interest in John Collins. I'd bet they want to go after Hartenstein first. They could potentially prefer Valanciunas over Collins as well.
I'd prefer the Dieng route and I think they are going to keep Giddey even though they should move on. I wonder what their cap space plan is.Ousmane Dieng for John Collins
If we prefer Giddey, we can send them 29 or 32....or maybe we take both.
Maybe a John Collins level move, but I think there will be a little movement and no clear direction one way or another. Not sure DA can find his value hunter deal of the month in this market. Even the available for a reason guys could get some action with a lot of buyers. There were some reports... I think Tony... saying interest in Lavine was minimal iirc. It may have been a price thing. If I had to guess I think it would be Lavine because the Bulls finally got desperate and wanted to pay Derozan/Williams instead. My second guess would actually be Trae Young if Atlanta found his market so bad but really felt like they had to move him. Even then I think LA would outbid us but maybe they get someone higher on their list.I still think we make some kind of move, but it will be disappointing. It will be someone like Lavine or Miles Bridges, but I think the Jazz will land one of these "available for a reason" guys. In the other thread talking about FO intentions, I think I had it at about a 50/25/25 split in likelihood of happening....I still feel the same way. Maybe I'd adjust to 50/35/15.
