Possible Kanter trades?

Kanter would be playing more time @ the 5 if we didn't have Favors. In fact he was more effective last year in lineups where he was paired with a smaller big(Evans) than a larger one(favors). He's a banger that makes him more of a 5. He isn't a rim protector but his D in the paint is much better than his pick and roll d. He is a big. He can play both the 4 & the 5 but he showed us last year that he is better as a 5.

Centers are meant to be rim protectors and power forwards need to be able to open the floor by hitting from 15 feet or more. I have been saying Kantor, if drafted by us, should be a power forward before he was drafted.

Oh good lord, you really really should start watching games of all the other teams in the NBA. Is Kanter good??? No. Could he be? Anybody could be. He isn't feared by any center or power forward or any position by any player with any any team in the NBA. Unless Kwame Brown starts playing again.

Yeah these.

Not sure what HeyHey is smoking tonight, tbfphwy.

Is Kanter fast enough to guard 4's? I hope his passing keeps trending up. His Assist/TO ratio last year was leaps and bound better then prior two years.

Kanter hasn't been the same since his injury. I really liked him before he fell on the ground for what seemed like a harmless play. It's turned into so much more. Since that shoulder injury Kanter hasn't been the same player. It's seem to have stunted is growth. I hope he's healthy this year, and can get me hopeful again.

His offense was pretty good. His defense was awful, but it can be improved. No corbin so he will be better

Before the shoulder injury he lost something like 60lbs in 1 Summer, and he was fit as, he was running around here there and everywhere.

Since the injury he wasn't able to keep fit last Summer and seemed to have put on weight - that weight had stayed on. Like Rev. said, he hasn't been the same since.

He used to have a good inside game, but fact of the matter is he's below the rim as a player. He's better off losing the weight and play the stretch 4 face up game which I believe he has it in him to succeed in the NBA.

questions

Is that the only combination that works? How many teams have this combination?

Everyone talks about Kanter slimming down but the 245-250 he hit before his shoulder injury is probably as thin as he can really get. He just isn't quick enough to play the 4 full-time. If his outside shooting improves, then it might not matter. See: Memo Okur, etc.

As for the suggested trade, a future first round pick is very valuable even if will likely be a late first round pick.

But I don't know if that is the right trade.

I think we'll have to wait and see if Kanter has improved. Or maybe he is a just a backup.

Kanter's biggest problem on defense is his positioning. He can't guard someone facing up or when they post up.

Also comes into play when he guards the pick and roll. Overcommits, has arms apparently glued to his hips (making sure the guard has a nice passing lane), and then is slow to rotate.
