SBNation - Kevin Durant's injury shows why other NBA contenders should never give up

Err'body hates LeBaron. But he is an all time great, and came back to Cleveland. I don't see KD doing either of those.

Talent-wise Durant is not too far away from Lebron James as a stud of the league. Just not achieved as much. But at the same time, James had Cleveland as his home, whereas Durant has a lot of ties with Oklahoma City including community investments. So I can say that their tie is more than just basketball, and being the emotional guy Durant is, if things stops getting more and more sour after the famous "Alley Oop" in the All Star Game between Durant and Westbrook, I always will smell the chance of Durant coming back to OKC after one or more championship experiences in Golden State then coming back to clean up his crap.

I post, therefore I am.

How about LBJ leaving Cleveland for Miami?
If you hate Durant, you have to hate any player who has left their original team. Westbrook is a ball hog. Though both deny any bad blood, the two probably couldn't co-exist. Durant was a FA and free to choose his employer.
What Carlos Boozer did was far worse. But we gladly welcomed him here, ethics notwithstanding.

Well, Lebron didn't go to a team that just beat him in playoff after losing 3-1. He also didn't go to a team where he would be the 2nd best player.

And I'd boo the ever loving **** out of him if I was a OKC fan when he comes back. It was so weak it's hard to wrap my mind around it. He was set up to win big in OKC and it wasn't good enough. It's a complete joke.

LeBron was a one man show and it was evident his organization at the time had no idea how to construct a team. LeBron leaving was egregious in a few aspects but in my opinion somewhat a little more understandable. Just my opinion though.

Many Thunder fans didn't like KD's method in which he exited OKC. His LeBron James' dramatics was an early indication that he wasn't sticking with the Thunder.

Durant has never possessed true leadership qualities like Westbrook; Russell let Durant think he was the man. Kevin wanted to lead by committee.

We (OKC fans) wish him the best in his recovery. His decision to leave OKC was his call. IF Durant had been more aggressive like you see exhibited by Westwolf's energy; Thunder would have played in the finals when they had GSW down 3 - 1.

Durant has always been venerable (fragile) below the knees.

Westwolf?

Dear lord

Yes, Westwolf. He's a beast in practice. His expectations of his teammates are equally high.

My only fear is that Westbrook may not have the patience to stick around for his young teammates to mature.

GM Presti made a great move post ASG bringing McDermott & Gibson (former Bulls) on board.

Just saying, kind of bad taste to celebrate an injury.

That's not what you said though. No one is celebrating an injury. We are jazz fans man, we get how having an injured player sucks real bad.

That doesn't change the fact that he is out, and a team can take advantage of it if they work hard. It's how it happens every year.

Curry got hurt early in the playoffs last year.

Malone hurt his back in 2004.

Bill Walton was injured all the time.

Durant is injured every damn year, or okc would have like 5 titles.

Injuries suck but they are the reality of playing.
