What's new

Six games in and...

Hate to bring the negatives, but we almost certainly dont beat the Hornets if Gordon was healthy. Also can not exactly be to positive after the Milwaukee game. Milwaukee was absolutely horribe and did not look like they wanted to be there. Now good thing is Burks got a lot of pt. Would not mind if Howard is out a few more games in order to get him a lot of minutes. But yeah 3-3 is still a bit of a surprise.

While I agree with you for the most part, it's worth mentioning that most teams are struggling with inconsistency and injury. This is lockout basketball; take the wins; don't look back.

I think the most interesting state is how the Jazz are leading the league in block shots. How long will this last? Isn't this what fans have foamed at the mouth for?

....personally, I have foamed at the mouth for a return of the Stockton to Malone "pick and roll".....and that ain't EVER coming back!!!

Good thoughts Arch.

I think Ty is developing nicely. I said give him ten games before passing judgement and he is doing with his first ten games what I thought he should. He is evaluating and adjusting. And imo doing a fine job of it so far.

The minutes split between Bell and Burks last night was about spot on the way it should be.

That lineup in the 4th quarter needs to play more together (I believe it was Watson, Burks, Hayward, Sap, AJ, but you could sub in Kanter or Favors for AJ).

I hope they find a way to package CJ/Bell/both (and maybe Harris) with something else and get us a decent starting PG at mid-season. Even as Harris seems to be improving, I still think someone who knows how to run an offense, not just play with energy and pass a little bit, would help this team tremendously.

All in all I am optimistic about our season at this point. I am thinking my prediction of just under .500 will be a little low and we might be ahead of the .500 mark by the end.

Pass the Kool-Aid!

More seriously, the Jazz have shown that they can beat the bad teams, but not the good teams. Shaping up to be a 0.500 year, which is basically what I predicted before the season started (I'm on record with a 34-32 prediction). We'll see flashes of brilliance, I believe, along with flashes of crap.

Or would that be splashes of crap? Hmm.

Anyway, you are right of course. This will be a season of dizzying highs and ****ty lows. But I think it's going to be more fun than maybe many of us thought it would be.

As long as the young guys get minutes like they have been.

Maybe Sloan left just in time. There is no way Kanter and Burks would have gotten this much burn under his watch. I think expecting .500 ball is being to optimistic. We almost lost to an extremely cold-shooting, sub-par bucks team with out their best player. Not trying to be a debbie downer here but with the inevitable injuries, road trips, and just playing better teams, .333 ball is more likely.

I'd be happy with .333.
I'm happy for the young guys to get wins, but I'm also happy for the losses. I see them thru the lens of the 2012 draft.

I have always viewed this year as a year to prepare for the run we will have starting next year. Get the core we have now going. Build their chemistry and confidence. Land 1-2 lottery picks in the draft, exchange some of our current vets for vets that better fit with the talents of our young core and shoot for the stars.

It was sold out and it also didnt suck. It was a good atmosphere especially for a team coming off those two horrible losses.

This. I've been to two home games so far and the crowd has been great. Not sold out packed, but loud and awesome.
