Look how Houston completely took Ingles out of the series and forced Rubio to beat them. With really only 3rd string players to man the 4 for us we are not going to go very far. We need at least a borderline starter level 4 to round out the team to make a truly deep playoff run.

This is the main reason I think the Jazz won't truly contend for a title this year. But they can throw the entire MLE at a 4 next off season.

At the 4 next season- Derrick Favors will be a free agent, as will Jae Crowder. That's assuming Jarrell Brantley doesn't turn into our best 2nd round pick since Millsap.

Dario Saric will be a RFA next summer, we'll see how he does this year in Phoenix.

Taking a single player out of the mix isn't the only option. They can iso against certain players, you see that a lot with Houston where they try to force switches to get certain guys on Harden. They will try to force the ball out of the primary hands, etc. I think we have a lot of that covered but I think teams at that level are capable of exploiting even small weaknesses. And I think the 4 is our biggest hole, without even really a starter level player to start for us. It'll be enough for elite team to make things really hard. We need to plug that hole to make a really deep playoff run.

Wouldn’t mind that at all. He’s familiar with the system. If he can squeeze out a solid 10-12 minutes a game playing d and hitting the ocassional 3, that’s all we need. Maybe a little more in some games depending on matchups.
