The Jazz shot 40% from the field, but the offense was ran to perfection? It wasnt even close to the best offensive game of the season.

The Jazz had an offensive rating of 104. If they had an offensive rating of 104 every night, they'd have the 3rd worst offense in the NBA.

You said - "2.5 are wide open (36% made) (Rubio makes 37% of these, so Rubio shoots better than Mitchell on wide open shots)"

Basketball isn't as simple as you are making it out to be. Defenses give Rubio wide open looks. It is part of their plan. So he knows he gets free shots. Defenses don't give Mitchell open looks, he just gets open due to work, the offense, etc. DM has 10 less years of professional experience, doesn't know he is getting open looks like Rubio knows he will get, and Rubio shoots 1% better. But you say Rubio is a better wide open shooter.

That's a handpicked irrelevant stat. There is always a stat which can prove either side of a point. The truth is simple - last night our offense looked the best it has looked all season. Mitchell was more comfortable last night. There is no reason to force Rubio into being a guy he has never been consistently - offensively dangerous.

We aren't a contender with the current roster with Rubio starting. Roll with Donovan and maybe we have a superstar.

And DM just put up 33/9 but some aren’t saying he should be a pg.

He’s a good shooter... he passes up the shot more often than I’d like. I don’t think he becomes a guy that creates for himself and others enough to be the main backcourt partner. He’s a decent passer... the ball handling and driving is a struggle... which is clearly what I was referring to as the issues.

You don't have some obscure stat to prove that.

Cy, you aren't correct enough to be as condescending as you are. You lack the courage to risk anything so you would rather question the unknown, take personal shots, and stick with comfortable mediocrity.

A blind man can see that we actually had fun playing last night. Sure, you can find some stat which says we could play better here or there, but the game came easy to us last night. Our fun on offense led to effort on defense.

No one individually works to get wide open shots. The offense gets you those shots, or some failure by the defense.

Mitchell has had plenty of wide open looks every game (2.5 to be exact) and he hasn't been great at them. To say he doesnt know he is getting them is ridiculous when he gets a consistent amount every game.

And it wasnt handpicked, it was a direct response to you spouting off stuff that isnt completely accurate. Back up your stuff with facts or you just sound dumb.

You said he doesnt have a big jump in development but he just took 12 3's....

He is very much on the Joe Ingles development path. Ingles came in a hesitant shooter with a strong IQ. He had drive ability, but he didnt have scoring moves off the dribble so he struggled at times. Ingles didnt become a great player overnight.

None of the things I'm citing are obscure stats. They are all pretty basic.

This team always has fun when they are winning at home. I hope you arent suggesting they dont enjoy playing with Rubio.

And yeah, the game came easy because the Lakers arent a playoff team without Lebron James and they were shutdown by the defense. If the Lakers had an average offensive night they could have been in the game because the Jazz's offense was poor last night.

One game and Ingles is an extreme outlier. Royce can get better but the creation handle parts of his game likely don’t make him the ideal backcourt partner.

I like Royce... I hope he develops... he might be a better option next to DM than Ricky... I hope we can do better though.

Ingles might be an extreme outlier, or he might be one of many that the NBA ignores because it's not the traditional path.

Kinda like shooting 12 threes in a game. The offense was very good with DM at point but you can’t handle being wrong.

The Orlando game it was a 132 with DM on court... two ****** teams but still... we get a couple weeks to see how it looks.

We played Cleveland and Orlando (both worse than the Lakers) led by Rubio and we sucked starting off. The opponent argument doesn't stick. We had a .500 record at home before last night so that point doesn't stick either.

I'm tired of excuses. I'm tired of crossing my fingers and hoping for good Ricky when I know that happens so rarely. I would rather cross my fingers and hope for superstar Donovan.

Even when Rubio "goes off", we still rarely win. We should keep playing DM at PG just to see how it goes. There is very little risk because our 1st quarter performances have mostly sucked this year anyway. Low risk maybe high reward.

Did I say Royce O'Neale was going to shoot 12 threes every game? It's just a big step for a guy who has been hesitant to shoot at times.

And I'm not wrong on any of this.

Again, point out any time I said DM cant be a successful PG in the NBA. You're adopting Lopo level of being a moron by taking the "Mitchell shouldn't be the PG" argument completely out of context.

Mitchell is our best offensive player. Last night proved it and told us what we already know. The offense is way better with him on the floor and ball in hand.

He's 13th in usage this year among qualifying players. The ball is in his hands a lot regardless of who is on the court with him. If anything, the Jazz should get players who can take the ball out of his hands a bit and help him be a more efficient player.

Spoiler alert, it won't matter how it looks. Cy gonna want DM back at sg and Rubio back at point guard.
