Stupid Pet Peeves

When people sort things stupidly. For example, I'm going through some tables right now and it's sorted by a date column. But whoever put it together sorted it as straight text rather than as more intelligent numbers or dates, so for example "5 Aug" and "6 Aug" come after "10 Aug" and "20 Aug".

That happens a lot when I import data from one source into another - - the date format doesn't translate into the new table and that's what happens - - very annoying! Then again, maybe if I truly understood the finer points of Excel, I could figure out a work-around. Their Help function doesn't.

I've heard the Crimea is beautiful this time of year.

Growin up my fathers brother told us stories of livin in what he refused to not call Balaclava which is what ur was called before the Soviets united an than changed the name incorporated in to Sevastopol. My uncle, he has beautiful pictures of Vorntsov Palace, Genoese Fortress, Bird Home all the main attractions.

He use to go every other year an of course his pictures were 70's style mostly but I compare Crimea to what you may expect in Scotland or Ireland. Visit if you can.

Yes, very annoying. Also a pet peeve of mine.

On a related note (same tables), when people don't put a leading zero before decimal numbers that need them. Like ".87" instead of "0.87".

That happens when things get imported in straight text. It sucks.
