Agree to an extent but I don't think you need to see BYU return to the pass happy days with an offensive minded coach to make fans happy. I'm guessing BYU fans would be just fine with winning scores like 17-to-3 against teams like Texas, Utah, Notre Dame, etc. Fans just want to watch good football, and whatever BYU has going on offensively right now is certainly not good. The flip side of that is, it's awfully hard to hold teams like Texas to 3 points, even with a good defense. Yes, you need some offense but without an O-line, you can't even get started. Colton nailed it: Taysom probably isn't that bad, but how can you tell with the amount of pressure he's facing?

Going forward, BYU's 2013 season (and maybe Bronco's job) will be defined by whether or not the O-line can get better on the fly. The team sports a great front 7 on Defense, at the very least a decent QB, and some amazing skill players on offense (Jamal and Hoffman). However, it's hard to envision BYU with a winning record unless that O-line pulls it together.
 
Proof of the BYU hype machine:

All we have heard about the last 5 years is how amazing BYU's QB recruits are, and how terrible Utah's QB's are.

Yet, both offenses have been terrible. Wrubell is still talking BCS bowls, while most pundits are talking 6 wins for Utah.

Uhhhhhh....ok?

If BYU fan thinks they have a chance in the Utah game, good for you. That night will be a long night for you. No matter what happens this weekend, win or lose, BYU will still be talking about how great they are.

Heck, if BYU is 0-2 and Utah is 3-0, all we will hear about is how Utah barely beat a bad USU team, beat a FCS team and how OSU sucks because they lost to a FCS team. All we will hear about BYU is how great their defense is, how Texas is awesome and BYU almost beat them, how BYU beat themselves against Virginia, the weather, the offense will be awesome, out of BYU's 30 NFL offensive linemen, they are awesome now, how BYU's defense will rock Utah, blah blah blah.

Then Utah will win. Utah fan will hopefully wonder if that will finally shut BYU fan up. But it won't. The fanbase will the largest forearms in the country will continue to dribble on and on about beating themselves. Porn usage in Utah County will continue to rise, and BYU will continue to beat themselves. I've come to terms with this.

I'll also enjoy Utah beating BYU like a rented mule in a couple of weeks.

Jazzman is probably the best, lefty is pretty cool and there are some other good ones.

Any of you guys gonna make it to the game by halftime? Or are you saving all that pent up sexual tension for the Utah game?

I think BYU goes out and surprises. I'm not saying BYU wins, but I am saying that they put some wind back in your sails. Get you guys all excited for the Utah game again.

That was a fun watch. BYU was giving them the business. Running it right down their throats.
 
White denard robinson is killing Texas. How many 3rd and long runs can he get? Sheesh!

BYU football is turned on its own head. The ghosts of McMahon, Young, Detmer, Sark, Beck, and Hall are rolling in their graves. BYU can't pass worth a damn but they sure can run the hell out of the ball.
 
Van noy is the best player on the field..... Total bad ***, and I cant wait to watch him play on sundays
