Any time you make a decision according to preference, it is discrimination. Choosing caramel over butterscotch is discriminatory. The question is what the discrimination is based upon, and how legitimate it is.
I can't help but think of how ignorant you are and how to translate one thing into meaning absolute statements.
1. Sure, dating is a cultural activity, but it's also a biological activity. Some people want relationships where they can have kids. We see this in the animal kingdom as well, but the difference between humans and animals goes beyond just the desire to have sex. Many times, humans make concious and cognitive decisions to reproduce or have the desire to do that one day in their life. Heterosexuals can can do this in a relationship with a transgender person. It's not to say that transgender relationships are less than heterosexual relationships at all (I support anyone who's in love and wish them happiness,) it's just saying something that's a fact.
2. Joe Rogan has many people on his show with many different backgrounds. He's not a political podcaster - he just engages conversations with a vast arrange of guests. Sometimes his opinions align with his guests, sometimes they don't e.g. Steven Crowder. Again, I suggested the video because I like Joe Rogan and I thought the podcast with Dr Soh was interesting. You can **** on Rogan all you want and that podcast. I'm sure if you listened to the whole podcast or Rogan more often, you'd find Rogan to be pretty level headed. There's a reason he has one of the biggest podcasts in the world. Cool dude.
3. The whole notion where you state it's discrimination if a heterosexual won't date a transgender is absurd to me - especially when you defend racial discrimination.
Discrimination: the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.
Your butterscotch/caramel example is silly and a stretch.
It's not discrimination and I'll tell you why. Gender is different than sex. Heterosexuals (for the most part, not an absolute) are interested in the opposite sex because of biological reasons. Transgender females are different than females naturally born females. This is not to say there's something wrong with transgenders in the slightest, it's just saying they're different. There is no prejudice in not being interested in this type of dating. There's nothing unjust about it
I'd also like to add that if someone is heterosexual and dates a transgender partner and doesn't see or think of their relationship as anything different than heterosexuality, then that's fine with me too.
