The Indispensable Man

Who is most indispensable?

1. Gobert - best rim protector in the league...period.
2. Favors - possibly be the best overall defensive big man in the league (can guard the perimeter, pick & roll, post, transition)
3. Hayward - best overall player statistically on the Jazz...jack of all trades but not elite at anything.

lol, you ignored my other post saying I know it was BS and just went different on purpose?

Took a contrarian stance before Cy could.

It's easily Hayward in my opinion. He's our best player and there is no substitute on his roster for what he does. He always fins a way to positively impact the game. Hood is unreliable and Joe's days of carrying an offense are in the past.

Gobert is responsible for our identity, but I have a hard time saying he is our most indespensible player when he's getting benched at the end of games.

Easily Gobert. Hayward's production can be replaced somewhat... Nobody can do what Gobert has to offer.

Dude is shooting 80% from the FT line from high school gyms in the pre-preseason. Keep up!

No one really. We have no true go to player. I voted Gobert mainly because he's the only one we have no true viable backup for other than another starter (Favors). But really any of the "big 3" going down will now or less be the difference between a possible playoff appearance (and likely first round exit) and another high lottery pick. But in three end it really makes little difference unless you're counting in grades of mediocrity. So the difference between a C- and C+ most likely.

I don't really see how you can say this. Two of the big 3 went down for a large amount of games last year and we missed the playoffs by a game with much worse depth than we have this year.

This shtick would be funnier if it wasn't currently in-use by another popular jazzfanzer. This whole campaign of yours has the originality of when hotttnickkk changed his name to youngblood. So fresh.

The real shtick is all of you clearing space on the mantle for the trophy since we added a 35 year old, Diaw and another point guard that might be beaten out by a kid that lost a season to injury. I get the drinking three Kool aid ******** and having some hope for the season but we are still far from being contenders. You guys sound more and more like a religion. Oh no someone has a dissenting opinion. Put your fingers in your ears and LA LA LA all you want. Everything is still prognostication. If anything it's the cultish mantra being "saved" that is the shtick. I think we will have a better season than last year but just because Chad Ford says nice things guarantees nothing. And in the end 4th place is just a higher class loser. Sorry you are so weak in your position that you feel the need to claim dishonesty when someone points this out.

What kind of start to the season will make you drop your pessimism and come to the light side?

Did I say we were a contender? There's a lot of ground between contention and what you're saying. And, every program goes though a period between a rebuild and a championship, so I fail to see how getting amped for a 4th place finish and homecourt advantage in the playoffs is religious, credulous, or any other version of hotttnickkk

If I had this attitude, I would not be a fan of a certain NBA team. I would just watch whoever signed LeBron/KD/Steph/whatever current superstar.

Hayward and Favors by far. I too love Gobert. But he is quite over rated here IMHO. You put a heavier center on him and he becomes non existent. I wasn't impressed with his Olympic play either. Doesn't mean he isn't important. Cause he's easily 3rd behind Hayward and Favs.
