What kind of start to the season will make you drop your pessimism and come to the light side?
I think I'm being pretty optimistic. I guessed us winning more games than last year maybe even into the high 40's. Might even have a shot at 50 if the stars are aligned. But realistically we are still no contenders and 6+ seasons of mediocrity has my cynicism level at an all time high. We will probably have a fun and enjoyable, and at times frustrating season to watch. But I want a trophy and I don't think anything we did realistically gets us any closer.
But thanks for the respectful question. That is a rare thing here. I think if we can hold a top 3 position in the west through Christmas I'll start to really get excited about the season. Otherwise I'll enjoy the exciting times when they happen and get the most out of the season that I can. Sadly it is highly unlikely that will include any kind of deep playoff run.
But as I have said before I will more than happily eat crow. I just feel bad that a lot of you overly optimistic ones will be the group eating crow.
I'm hoping the FO has some magic to pull off maybe surrounding Hayward and his imminent departure that can or some wind back in our sales.
Obviously every fan wants their team to win a championship.
No one is special because they really really want a championship for their team.
It's not like the NBA got all the front offices together and asked "who wants a championship really bad" and the Jazz FO didn't raise their hand because they prefer mediocrity.
It you can't support your team unless they're winning a championship then being a sports fan if going to be rough.
Burks...
If the Dude was healthy last year we'd have been 5th seed in the playoffs!!!

Such a misrepresented argument. Both ways. Sounds like politicians.
Guess you're just bracing yourself for disappointment, Logo, but do you realize that an attitude like yours is exactly what all losers feel and why they end up losers. Having an overly optimistic attitude is something you need to be a winner and to overachieve, and I'm hoping that's exactly what happens, that all the stars align and we do better than expected.

Even though he hasn't proven to be a plus rating player yet ?
He has improved in every area people say he is weak in!
So log bro think we will win around 50 games, and he's a tad but disappointed about that. Basically the rest of the board is delighted at the prospect of winning 50 games. That about sum it up?
I'd have a difficult time being a fan too if I thought 50 wins sucked. Different strokes for different folks though.
How's Germany treating you, bro? Still miss Reno? Whenever I pass through Reno, I think of you, even though I've only talked on the internet with you. I passed through on business in March, stayed downtown at some casino and ate at a really good Taiwanese place, then got up super early and drive across the desert to beat a storm.
We should have gotten together sometime. I do miss Reno. It's a nice place to live really. We are in Utah now but likely moving to the L.A. area in the next few weeks. Looking for a new opportunity on the job front and that's most likely right now. Thanks for asking.
We got spoiled with 20 years of greatness. I want us to get there again.
Anyone want to change their vote to Hill?
