It was surprising to me how rough they looked against the Pels. Sometimes in sports there is just that one team you just can’t beat, but they’re issues appear deeper than just that. They need a rim protector or a more athletic PF to play with DS sorely I think…. and a better bench. Just not sure how another big messes with sabonis spacing, probably screws their PnR with him.Kings gotta make some decissions as to how they move forward. They dont look or feel like a contender and their 2 best players may both be 2nd banana level.
For the prospect of them paying a high price for Lauri, a 2nd round exit would have been better than a play in exit.
I think its possible that they will be starchasing as well.
Keegan Murray and his lack of lateral movement and defensive intensity is interesting. Davion Mitchell is an example of college talent not translating without adequate size. He couldn’t even guard Jose Alvarado and was supposed to be lockdown. Barnes, lyles, veshenkov, all not good enough or undersized. Also the Kings guards were not able to penetrate and draw enough help to throw pels defense off their shooters making their deficiencies even more apparent.
I like the Kings. Sabonis was awesome for the Zags. Their injuries definitively hurt them this season. I still think they are missing championship caliber pieces and defensive pieces. Interested to see where they go from here.
