The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I think the kings need another season to run it back when they have 2 key role pieces back next year. I feel Murray got exposed though. Their defense looks a lot like the Jazz did of years past but without Gobert in the middle to dissuade

Might not have been a step forward? Not making the playoffs is a big step back and the fact that they were even in the play in after finishing 3rd in the west regular season last year is a huge disappointment. If this were the jazz and we went from 3rd in the west to 9th with the same core group of players then we all would be very disappointed.

"Disappointed?" People on this board would be screaming at clouds, insisting we fire everyone, and demanding that we tear everything down to the studs.

Well, more than they do now, anyway. . .

Monk and Huerter....
Yep. Not too bad really.
I consider Zion a much bigger loss for example.

Huerter is an average role player. And monk is a good role player. They miss those guys. But they have all their best players healthy and were favored.
Plus they had huerter and monk most of the season (along with everyone else) so the fact that they were even in the play in game was disappointing in the first place.

Yeah there’s no way SAC does not see their season as disappointing, but they are definitely a team that wants to move forward and not backwards.

And yes, they were extremely healthy this year. That’s not debatable. Their disappointment came from the 82 game season where they were one of the healthiest in the league. Last year they were even more healthy in a weak west. They were set up for disappointment.

I think I'm missing some context on what is being discussed, but I would guess Sacramento is a buyer in the off season rather than a seller. I'm not sure what kind of assets they have, but I think they more likely to go all in than blow it up.
They owe one pick to Atlanta but the have the rest of their picks. That would be their biggest asset.

Clarkson to SAC for a first. Calling it now.
We won’t get a first for JC. I think they’d make a move for him though if they thought Monk was leaving. They LOVE Monk though. Guessing they will pay to keep him.

Not trying to throw cold water on it. I think they are one of the top 5 JC destinations but the Monk domino will determine that. If he left the. Heurter for JC or Barnes for JC and stuff heads one way or another could happen.

I’ll take the temperature at church tomorrow but yeah. They likely a bit unhappy. They (Vivek) also not known for patience and rationality. Been waiting for something dumb to happen.

I was gonna say they would be a good Lavine team….but they also gotta resign Monk. Replacing Monk with Lavine does….????

There just isn’t a natural spot for them to improve on unless they really go all in. But would it have made sense for them to go all in for a guy like Siakam? They don’t have a ton in the treasure chest.
